With tensions still running high amid ceasefire negotiations with the U.S., Iran has apparently said its attempt to open the Strait of Hormuz hit a snag, as they can't find all of the MINES they put in it.
Great.
As reported by The New York Times:
Iran has been unable to open the Strait of Hormuz to more shipping traffic because it cannot locate all of the mines it laid in the waterway and lacks the capability to remove them, according to U.S. officials.
The development is one reason Iran has not been able to quickly comply with the Trump administration's admonitions to let more traffic pass through the strait. It is also potentially a complicating factor as Iranian negotiators and a U.S. delegation led by Vice President JD Vance meet in Pakistan this weekend for peace talks.
Nothing says "good faith negotiations" like "we can't find all of our mines."

Does money make them harder to find? Does making newer, better weapons with the money make them harder to find? Does needing more time to make the newer, better make the harder to find? Does needing to get the money into banks needing more time make them harder to find? Does resurrecting old excuses and lies to bide time make them harder to find?

President Trump just announced that the United States is stepping in to clear the Strait of Hormuz after Iran proved completely incapable of doing it themselves.
Trump keeps his word.
After this, let the countries who use the Straight fend for themselves.

It should be noted that drifting mines, unless they become inactive after one hour, are prohibitted by the Hague VIII Convention of 1907, of which the Persian Empire was a signatory. As a successor state to a signatory, Iran is bound by the convention.
If their mines have drifted off, can't be found, and are still a threat to shipping, Iran has committed a war crime.
The_Reader_David:
As I noted elsewhere, the Persian Empire was a signatory to the 1907 Hague Convention that prohibitted drifting mine which did not disable within an hour of being laid. As a successor state Iran is bound by the Convention. Thus not being able to find their mines is proof of a war crime on their part.
