The Vatican has announced that it is set to hold a press conference on “supernatural phenomena” tomorrow, and it will touch on aliens and how it will deal with potential encounters in the future.

According to a notice on the Vatican's website, it will kick of at noon tomorrow, and will feature three prominent Vatican members.

Being held to “present the new provisions of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith for discerning between apparitions and other supernatural phenomena,” it will be led by Cardinal Victor Manuel Fernandex, Messenger Armando Matteo and Daniela Del Gaudio.

It doesn't take a genius to understand that transmission takes place more easily with contact or close proximity, especially in confined spaces. I know two people who got Covid after 20 minutes or so in a car with a person in a non-symptomatic stage of Covid, myself being one. Maybe 5 feet would have been proved adequate if tested, or maybe 6 feet was too close.  Common sense and experience still demonstrate that untested does not prove distance is irrelevant. As gotchas go, this one is gnat-straining.

When the government does something under the guise of science it should be science based. Especially when they enforce those rules on you. A lot money and resources were spent following government guidelines that were based on no science whatsoever. That somehow you were safe if you did this and weren't safe if you did that.

I know we have a few lawyers here.  Any predictions yet?

From my vantage point, here is my guess......

1. Trump is found guilty with 12 biased NY jurors coming to agreement.
2. Biden watches polling, and if the verdict hurts Trump, I predict that he under advise of counsel is told not to debate a convicted felon.
3.  If there isn't any polling that hurt DJT, Biden bows out due to health reasons.

I might be totally wrong on this, but any other thoughts/predicitons?

The North Carolina state Senate voted along party lines Wednesday to ban anyone from wearing masks in public, even for health reasons.

Republican supporters of the ban said it would help law enforcement crack down on protesters who wear masks. They say demonstrators are abusing COVID-19 pandemic-era practices to hide their identities following a wave of pro-Palestine protests nationwide and at North Carolina universities.

The bill goes even further and repeals an exception that’s been state law since the early stages of the pandemic that allows people to wear masks in public for health and safety reasons.

I'm not going to fault them over this. Social distancing works for colds why not covid? It was the beginning of covid and no one knew what we were dealing with
Hindsight is always 2020 and easy to go back and criticize.

"Social distancing" isn't defined as 6' in an enclosed building with common air. There are zero studies that support that claim. In fact there are numerous studies that show the air moves rapidly and spreads a virus over a wide area in a short amount of time. There was zero science involved with the 6' rule or the plastic barriers at banks, check out stands, etc.

There were numerous studies of masks in hospitals with respiratory viruses before 2019. They all concluded they made no statistical meaningful difference of the virus spread. Even with N95 masks. The COVID virus is typically about 120 nm in size. A surgical mask cannot filter that out at all. An N95 mask can filter some of it out for a short period of time. It only takes a tiny amount to infect you so that doesn't work. Then there's your eyes, they connect to your sinus cavities and also provide an entry for the virus mask or not mask.

That's called science, not let's just do something while winging it and call it science.

Gaetz and Bobert?  Shit, why didn't MTG just show up and call it the 3 stooges.

Trump needs to have sane GOP folks like Johnson, Cruz, RDS, et.al  show up to this trial for support, rather than the fringe.
Byron Donalds has shown up to support him...I don't cosinder him "fringe".

Cruz showing up in support of Trump???  He's fighting for his seat and he's already been ridiculed and mocked for supporting Trump because of how Trump beat up his character, ridiculed his wife and called his father an assassin.  Cruz has publicly commented in his defense recently and has been met with ridicule.

Trump attacked DeSantis in much the same way, he has stated that he will campaign for Trump, but .... that has also been met with some reservations by his supporters.

Trump has created much of his own problems.  No, I don't think this court circus is warranted, but neither was Trump's character assassination of Cruz and DeSantis.
