Florida governor and likely Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis signed universal school choice into law Monday, the latest in his long string of actions to reform education in the Sunshine State.
HB 1 creates an Education Savings Accounts (ESA) program giving families vouchers worth up to $8,000 to be spent on enrolling their children in schools of their choice outside the public education system. The new law expands Florida’s existing school choice program, which was previously available only to low-income families or disabled students, to all Florida students. Income level will still determine the order in which vouchers are distributed.

Texas is on the verge of doing the same thing.
Arizona, Iowa, Utah, Arkansas already have done this. ------- to name a few.

School choice is probably one of the most pro minority advancement steps you can take
Diversity, equity, and inclusion just rewards people based on their grievances

Pro-minority? I know of cases where children were forced to be bused into other areas to help with diversity, equity and inclusion. It didn't work. Children were not among their peers as far as ethnicity and some of those children acted out.
Pro choice is a means to put children in nearby schools rather than being bused and having to ride for over an hour and getting home at a ridiculous time. Waiting at a bus stop in the dark in order to catch the bus isn't safe.
We always sent our children to the closest elementary school. We sent them to private schools from middle school through high school. It wasn't cheap and I wish we had available $$ from the government to assist with tuition.
Go Ron!

When a child, of whatever race, is put in a situation where they can maximize their talents and ability, they will do much better in life. The Democrats know this. That’s why they fight school choice.
They would rather have minorities be victims and reward them for such. It’s a very dangerous and very wicked long-term game they’re playing.
