CNN requests emergency hearing after White House threatens to again pull Acosta's press credentials

CNN on Monday requested an emergency hearing in the U.S. District Court after the White House threatened to again pull the press credentials of the network's chief White House correspondent Jim Acosta.
The network in the new court filing said White House officials on Friday sent Acosta a letter stating his press pass would be revoked again after a court-ordered temporary restoration expires at the end of the month.
White House communications official Bill Shine and White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders in the letter to Acosta called the decision to revoke his press pass "preliminary," warning it would be "final" soon.
They offered the White House reporter the option of submitting a "written response" by Sunday, a deadline that CNN in the filing said was set "arbitrary."

Acosta is free to bleat his opinions about Trump all he likes and CNN is free to broadcast it. He’s just not invited to the party after he repeatedly exhibited bad behavior.
Where’s the news broadcasters association on all this presidential news conference stuff? How about they discipline Acosta’s unprofessional conduct? They largely set industry standards for their members without any government involvement.
Oh, that’s right. They’re busy filing amicus briefs.

What are they going to do if Trump cancels all White House press conferences and simply issue written press releases to all news outlets, sue on some non existent constitutional grounds? :thud:
