Steve Bannon expected to surrender to prosecutors in New York, face new criminal indictment
In response to the reports of the state criminal case in New York City, Bannon released a statement saying he was 'never going to stop fighting'
By Brie Stimson | Fox News
Steve Bannon is expected to turn himself in to New York authorities in Manhattan on Thursday to face a new indictment connected to his "We Build the Wall" fundraising effort.
The Washington Post, citing anonymous sources, reported that the state criminal case would resemble an earlier attempted federal prosecution, in which Bannon was accused of duping donors who gave money to fund a wall on the U.S. southern border.
Bannon, a former Trump senior adviser, was previously federally indicted for fraud in the private fundraising campaign.
Former President Trump pardoned Bannon on the federal charges before he left office in 2021. Bannon pleaded not guilty to the charges in 2020 before his pardon.

Who said political persecution is dead?
A resurrected USSR v2.0 is currently brought to you by the Democratic Party of America. Why not drop the DNC a line and let them know how you feel about that. And be sure to cc the RNC.

The government is going after Steve Bannon for his Build The Wall charity.
But the federal government appeared disinterested in charity fund misappropriations when BLM leaders were reported to be buying mansions and jets with charity funds. We heard only crickets at the time from DOJ’s Bill Barr when BLM was burning, looting and killing people during the “summer of love”.
Well finally it has taken someone outside of government to bring a law suit against BLM alleging that they stole $10 million from their charity.
Political persecution for Build the Wall, yet political blindness and amnesia for Black Lives Matter? Kinda makes me go hmmmm?

You seem to have left out the most ginormous charity fraud ever the the feebs ignored, The Clinton foundation.

Ah, the Clinton Foundation. The Holy Grail of graft.
Perhaps we can consult Saint Attila to request God bless a grenade. We could use the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch about now.
"O lord, bless this thy hand grenade, that with it thou mayest blow thy enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy."

The Biden administration may as well go full Soviet and build "mental institutions" for all the Trump-related political prisoners.

If he's so persecuted, why is he surrendering? Go out in a damn blaze of glory, coward!
-
If he's so persecuted, why is he surrendering? Go out in a damn blaze of glory, coward!
It’s not just Bannon. It’s a growing list of republicans and supporters of MAGA. From congress members to private citizens, people are feeling the threat of investigations and arrest by prosecutors and FBI. Paul Manafort and Roger Stone to name a couple of the high profile cases.
It’s nothing but politically motivated malicious prosecution.
-

Because that would be ridiculous, and would result in the police making an involuntary arrest of him, which could involve physical violence.
Surrendering one's self upon arrest, rather than going out in a "blaze of glory" is the more sensible thing to do. One has a better chance of living to fight another day.

Facing your enemy eyeball-to-eyeball is being a "coward"? You've a rather interesting worldview @jmyrlefuller 888blackhat

Steve Bannon surrenders in NY court in wall donor case
by MICHAEL R. SISAK, Associated Press - 09/08/22 1:46 AM ET
NEW YORK (AP) — Former President Donald Trump’s longtime ally Steve Bannon surrendered Thursday to face fresh charges that he duped donors who gave money to build a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border.
Bannon’s state-level charges in New York are expected to closely resemble an attempted federal prosecution that ended abruptly, before trial, when Trump pardoned Bannon on his last day in office. Presidential pardons apply only to federal crimes, not state offenses. In Bannon’s case, any double jeopardy argument would likely fall flat because his federal case didn’t involve an acquittal or conviction.
Bannon, 68, arrived at the Manhattan district attorney’s office shortly after 9 a.m. Thursday. He had acknowledged in a statement Tuesday that he would be charged soon.

Bannon Indicted in NY on Conspiracy, Money Laundering Charges in Alleged Wall Scheme
While the wall Bannon’s group proposed was to be built on the U.S. southern border, more than 1,000 miles from the Big Apple, Manhattan prosecutors have jurisdiction to pursue charges against Bannon because some donors to the effort lived in New York

Federal agents pulled Bannon from a luxury yacht off the Connecticut coast and arrested him on charges he pocketed more than $1 million in wall donations
Prosecutors alleged thousands of investors were tricked into thinking all of their donations would go toward the border wall project, although Bannon instead paid a salary to one campaign official and personal expenses

to make a claim of defauding people of money for the wall charity, they must have some form of evidence.
Tell you what DOJ, gives us some names, and we might take this more seriously.
I mean "leaking" is your middle name.

Considering the pattern of leaking, why doesn't DOJ at least mention or cite one person who Bannon defrauded?
At least be consistent.

Steve Bannon doesn’t need to defraud anybody, he’s independently wealthy. Whatever alleged financial misdeeds took place was probably a setup. All it takes is one phony “MAGA” wall-donor to lodge a complaint with the district attorney’s office and they’re off to the races. They only needed some splashy headlines, a perp walk—and for their purposes, its mission accomplished.

Right. This is about optics, about image, not substance. It's like someone being arrested a dozen times and never convicted, then the prosecution can claimthey have a long arrest record (fact) but leave out the part that not one charge stuck.
Keep people in the news being arrested long enough and the LIVs will associate the name with criminal activity even if none was ever proven. (Arrest above the fold in bold, acquittal back with the legal notices in fine print).

Agree, and why I made the earlier comment. Seems the DOJ/FBI Gestapo has the keen ability to selectively hold their cards to their chest, or leak like a sieve, whenever the circumstance works best for them. And again I ask, if Bannon did defraud these people with Wall Donations, why haven't they leaked the victims. I believe so, as RIV mentioned...... One or a select few have plotted a false flag claim, and being ID'ed would be risky to prove, or infer some other kind of collusion against Trump and his inner circle.

WATCH: New York AG Twists the Knife Into Steve Bannon
By Bonchie | Sep 08, 2022 9:30 PM ET
Steve Bannon was arrested on Thursday on money laundering and conspiracy charges stemming from a fundraising scheme to build a wall on the Southern border. Bannon, who is the self-proclaimed leader of the “MAGA grassroots movement,” surrendered himself in New York City to prosecutors following the indictment.
Apparently, New York AG Letecia James wasn’t satisfied, though. Later in the day, after Bannon had turned himself in, he was put in chains and perp walked down a long line of prepositioned media for his arraignment.

"Fraud," but no apparent victims, from what I've read. The chained perp walk is just so Soviet.
-
Sigh.
Yeah I saw this. Another GOPer locked up with no victims. Only the people can solve this. That's all I can say.

If Republican AGs and lawmakers don’t step up to the plate and start pushing back against The Regime’s relentless persecution of conservative dissidents, get used to seeing more perp walks like Bannon’s. When will the GOP wake up and actually fight fire with fire?
