McCabe wrote memos detailing his interactions with Trump: report
By Jacqueline Thomsen and John Bowden - 03/17/18 01:11 PM EDT

Former deputy FBI director Andrew McCabe reportedly wrote memos detailing his interactions with President Trump during his time at the bureau, the Associated Press reported Saturday.

McCabe, who was fired by Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Friday, reportedly kept memos similar to those written by former FBI Director James Comey. The AP cited a person familiar with the memos.

Comey had also written documents detailing his conversations and meetings with Trump.

Okay, so who’s to say that he wrote the truth?

Comey kept notes too. And Rice sent out emails, post facto, proving Obama didn't know nuthin.

Yep. All of the conspirators/defendants kept personal notes. Each a smoking gun no doubt.

A memo is never going to be as accurate as a transcript, but it's better than pure recollection.  There is usually other evidence that will corroborate or disprove the contents.  I know personally how keeping notes can be helpful.  I had a nightmare experience working with a third party agency in a workman's comp claim in 2011.  Having those conversations documented made a huge difference in my favor, when all was said and done.

Yeah cause.... you know.... and everybody knows.... that once you write something down in a note or a diary...

it's as good as da gospel!   :silly: :silly: :silly:

Even proven liars are suddenly and magically transformed into truthtellers.  Honest!

Hey, hey, hey!  Nobody ever lies to their diaries. :nono:

Those working in the Justice Department which is all about investigation of wrong doing, all likely keep notes on everything said about a case and to have a record of what they, the investigators, said and to whom they said it.  They are privy to so much, they can't depend on just memory, they need backup notes.

I would hope so, actually.  I was being a bit facetious.  I'd also point out that when people like Susan Rice do it, it's pure CYA.  And I also want to observe that LEO types have been known to lie repeatedly, both in their notes and on the stand in a court.

Mrs. Liberty worked in the courts for a lot of years, and she noticed Judges who were former Prosecutors tended to disbelieve cops, while Judges who worked in the Public Defender's office tended to disbelieve defendants.  Familiarity breeds contempt, I guess.

In defence of my learned friend @edpc from somewhere in the rustbelt, he is correct.  These after the fact notes are admissible in court and do hold weight if properly documented.  Now they are worth squaduce if it is stand-alone out in left field stuff with no other evidence pointing to validity.  SO as a whole it can be useful and are not hearsay, per say.

And the truth and reality is... there are liars (and people who 'recollect' wrongly) in both/all groups, despite copious notes.  It's just human nature.

I don't deny there is import to keeping logs of some events.  If you're being harassed at work, for example, HR will tell you to keep a log of events.  The particulars may be disputed, but it establishes a timeline.

In my particular case, the credit goes to my better half. It was fairly obvious things would quickly go sideways, after the first consultation we had. She gave me a brand new composition notebook (so no one could accuse me of removing pages) and a stack of pens. Being a project manager and compliance officer, she understood the best methods of formatting and importance of note keeping.

Composition books with numbered pages are the best.  The Engineers and Scientists use them for patent purposes.

I have not done that much writing since high school.  These days, I rarely do that aside from signing my name. Computers have really spoiled us.

Computers provide date stamps and IT has all our computer clocks locked down.  Not nearly as much gets written down as it used to.
