A Colombian man's lung tumors turned out to have an extremely unusual cause: The rapidly growing masses weren't actually made of human cells, but were from a tapeworm living inside him, according to a report of the case. This is the first known report of a person becoming sick from cancer cells that developed in a parasite, the researchers said.

That just brought back a very unpleasant memory from childhood. I remember being told in school that they used to put a bowl of cooked cabbage next to a person's mouth that had a tapeworm - the tapeworm would then come out of the person's mouth for the cabbage.

Well, it is interesting. I did not know that tapeworms could get cancer.
Took a long time to get over the bowl of cabbage story though. I might have a nightmare over THIS.

Looks like there may be some truth to the old wives tale that cancer is contagious.
