The Afghans have found that they can play the American commanders, and they do it well. Americans go into an area with this "Good Old Boy" attitude. They think that the Afghans will respect a handshake, or will keep a promise. It isn't so. The Afghani will do what is advantageous to himself, period. They are NOT our friends.
These deaths are the result of the Clintonesque political correctness BS that has permeated the military. Any commander who is afraid to take action because his "buddy" the Afghani may be insulted needs to be dismissed.
