Adopt a puppy or kitty from your local shelter
Or an older dog or cat. They're true love❤️

At first pop no matter how tiny our Shamette(what I call our very Rubenesque  :silly: Tuxedo) makes a beeline for under the bed and stays there for hours after the last boom.

My dog loves fireworks.  We were at my brother's house Saturday.  We were up on the second-story deck and he was downstairs in the back yard setting off firecrackers - who was right there at the railing watching avidly?  My dog.
I had a Lab mix that would have been a great hunting dog, no fear of loud bangs, but he would jump and try to grab a firecracker I threw.

@Kamaji

Stella is seriously pissed. Good thing for the dog she doesn't weigh 50 lbs.

@Kamaji

I  have a "shop Tomcat" that does the same thing. I leave a ladder leaning up against my shop "office" wall in case I have to go up there to get something,and have gone out there and opened a can of cat food,and damned if he hasn't came running down the ladder head first as fast as he can run.

Unfortunately,another cat saw him climb the ladder and went up there with him one day,and was so afraid of climbing back down she died up there of starvation or thirst.

Now I am afraid to ever move the ladder because there is no way of telling if he is up there or not. Even if I climb up there,he may be hidden inside or behind something stored up there.

Not even sure I want to,since mice and snakes can also get up there.
