Fifteen in 15...bet you no one writes in Milli Vanilli

(1/4) > >>

Luis Gonzalez:
Here's the challenge:

List fifteen albums that will always stick with you. List the first fifteen that come to your mind, because those are the ones that matter the most to you.

It may be the album that was playing that night, that first night, or the one playing the night.

It may be that old Andy Williams vinyl recording, with pops and scratches that your parents used to dance to when you were a kid, or the one that you listened to, siting cross-legged on the floor, back when you were 25, in '64.

Don't take too long to think about this.

You have more or less than fifteen?

That's fine, just do it!

* Counting Crows - August and Everything After
* Steely Dan - Aja
* Dan Fogelberg - Nether Lands
* The Beatles - Abbey Road
* The Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Band - Consummation
* Snow Patrol - Eyes Open
* AC/DC - Back in Black
* U2 - The Joshua Tree
* Bruce Springsteen - Darkness at the Edge of Town
* Meatloaf - Bat Out of Hell
* David Bowie - The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars
* Triumvirat - Illusions on a Double Dimple
* Crosby, Stills, and Nash - Crosby, Stills, and Nash
* The Eastman Wind Ensemble - Lincolnshire Posy (Mercury 1958)
* Willie Colon and Ruben Blades - Siembra
Your turn!

Songs would be easier.    :bolt:
Albums are hard for me, as I always bought singles. The only reason I bought an album is if the single wasn't available, or if it was greatest hits.....LOL

I was never much of a 45 RPM buyer, I always figured that I could always hear the "popular" songs on the radio. I still, to this day, hear a couple of songs that I like from an artist, then buy the CD because I figure that the rest has something else worth listening to.

Most of the time they do.

That's how I find things like this.

Then do this.

Imagine that a movie of your life was being filmed, and that you were asked to supply ten songs to the soundtrack. Those songs would be the music playing during the scenes portraying the most significant (or memorable) moments in your life, from youth, to present.

What would those ten songs be?

Luis Gonzalez:
In my life's movie, this would play over the credits at the end.

"Photograph"

Look at this photograph
Everytime I do it makes me laugh
How did our eyes get so red
And what the hell is on Joey's head

And this is where I grew up
I think the present owner fixed it up
I never knew we'd ever went without
The second floor is hard for sneaking out

And this is where I went to school
Most of the time had better things to do
Criminal record says I broke in twice
I must have done it half a dozen times

I wonder if it's too late
Should i go back and try to graduate
Life's better now than it was back then
If I was them I wouldn't let me in

Oh, oh, oh
Oh, god, I

Every memory of looking out the back door
I had the photo album spread out on my bedroom floor
It's hard to say it, time to say it
Goodbye, goodbye.
Every memory of walking out the front door
I found the photo of the friend that I was looking for
It's hard to say it, time to say it
Goodbye, goodbye.

Remember the old arcade
Blew every dollar that we ever made
The cops hated us hangin' out
They say somebody went and burned it down

We used to listen to the radio
And sing along with every song we know
We said someday we'd find out how it feels
To sing to more than just the steering wheel

Kim's the first girl I kissed
I was so nervous that I nearly missed
She's had a couple of kids since then
I haven't seen her since god knows when

Oh, oh, oh

I miss that town
I miss the faces
You can't erase
You can't replace it
I miss it now
I can't believe it
So hard to stay
Too hard to leave it

If I could I relive those days
I know the one thing that would never change

Every memory of looking out the back door
I had the photo album spread out on my bedroom floor
It's hard to say it, time to say it
Goodbye, goodbye.
Every memory of walking out the front door
I found the photo of the friend that I was looking for
It's hard to say it, time to say it
Goodbye, goodbye.

Everytime I do it makes me laugh
Everytime I do it makes me...
