Viking Longship "Dragon Harald Fairhair" Under Sail
Chieftain:
The Viking Longship "Dragon Harald Fairhair", (or in Norwegian Draken Harald HÃ¥rfagre) is the largest Viking longship to have been built in modern times. Hand-built of oak, in the town of Haugesund in Western Norway, the ship is a hundred and fourteen feet long, twenty-seven feet wide, displaces seventy tons, and will carry thirty-two hundred square feet of sail. She was recently launched and has begun sailing trials, and this short video shows those early trials and gives some fascinating information about the ship and its' history...

And Scottish isles, and Irish isles, and French rivers, the Volga River, Sicily, southern Italy, Canada, possibly New England etc.
And today their homelands are among the most civilized and prosperous of any.

Those Vikings sure got around eh? My paternal grandmother emigrated from the land of the Vikings; wonder if they'd let me return as the prodigal (grand)son?
