Rosie O’Donnell Self-Deported to Ireland After Trump Election: Will Return to U.S. ‘When It’s Safe for All Citizens to Have Equal Rights’

The decades-long feud between actress and former daytime talk show host Rosie O’Donnell and President Donald Trump just got a little more complicated.

“It’s been pretty wonderful, I have to say. The people are so loving and so kind, so welcoming. And I’m very grateful,” O’Donnell said in a recently posted the TikTok video, in which the league of Their Own star detailed her move to Ireland before Trump’s inauguration.

“I was never someone who thought I would move to another country, that’s what I decided would be the best for myself and my 12-year-old child. And here we are,” she said.

“You know, I’m happy. Clay is happy. I miss my other kids. I miss my friends. I miss many things about life there at home and I’m trying to find a home here in this beautiful country and when it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America, that’s when we will consider coming back,” O’Donnell said, before her comments turned to the political state here in the U.S.

“It’s been heartbreaking to see what’s happening politically and hard for me personally as well. The personal is political, as we all know.”

“Protect your sanity is all I can say. Protect your sanity as much as you can, and try not to swim in the chaos if possible, but I know it’s nearly impossible when you’re there in the middle of it,” O’Donnell continued in the 9-minute video.

Trump offered asylum to Enoch Burke because he's a champion of free speech and religious freedom, unlike the Irish government that jailed him for his Christian beliefs.
Burke's case is a testament to the growing intolerance of radical leftism in Europe, where speaking one's mind can land you in jail, a stark contrast to Trump's America where freedom of expression is cherished.
The fact that Burke faced persecution in Ireland and found refuge in the US is a massive win for MAGA and a slap in the face to the Irish government's attempts to stifle dissent.

I think these warnings are a bit lax.

I wouldn't travel anywhere in Europe, especially reading the story of the young lady gang raped by Muslims at gun point.  That happened in Sweden, yet there are only implementing a Level 2 warning exercise increased precautions.

I have a friend who is leaving for Spain tonight.  She is of Spanish descent and has family over there and thinks nothing of traveling to Spain.  She shows no concern.  She is planning on letting her 17 year old daughter and her friend venture off to a couple of boutiques to shop.  I  again told her of my concern.  I just looked; Spain has a Level 2 warning -- exercise increased precautions. No way I'd travel there right now; family or not.

Irish tax rates include a standard income tax rate of 20% for income up to a certain threshold, with a higher rate of 40% applied to income above that threshold. Additionally, there are various taxes such as the Universal Social Charge (USC) and Pay Related Social Insurance (PRSI) that also affect overall taxation.

Ireland used to be a tax haven but then pressure from the EU forced them to normalize their tax rates to be more in line with EU averages.
