13-year-old brain cancer survivor reacts to being named honorary Secret Service agent by Trump
The father of 13-year-old Devarjaye "DJ" Daniel, who has been battling brain cancer and was honored at President Donald Trump's address to Congress on Tuesday, called out MSNBC host Rachel Maddow for the comments she made about Trump's remarks about his son.

"She needs to shut her mouth if she has nothing nice to say," Theodis Daniel, DJ's father, told the New York Post. "This lady didn’t even serve time in the military."

After the president made DJ an honorary member of the Secret Service during his address, Maddow and fellow MSNBC colleague Nicolle Wallace said the president's honoring of DJ was a "disgusting" political move.

"She does not need to put her bad energy on us," Daniel said.

Good for him defending his son...

Was it for political show, yes/probable, but it has been done by most every politician including Harris and Biden and Obama and numerous republicans too... and it made the kid's year, a year more he may not have/get. I imagine Maddox didn't say a thing about the parade of liberal entertainers that K.H trotted out (often buying)... Trump may not have many musicians and Oprah to parade, but he does have good real Americans.

Actually, it reminds me of a Make-a-Wish sort of event.

MSNBC has become a PR dumpster fire.  And has strangely tripled down on cringeworthy political discourse by even commenting on DJ.   It was an hour and half speech, and they had to spend time on this embarrassment? 

What Nicole Wallace said would usually result in firing by 99 out of 100 sane news outlets.  Except I don't think there are many left that think sanity and MSNBC should be in the same sentence.

MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace is still in hot water two days after wishing 13-year-old DJ Daniel a “long life” as a police officer while hoping he never has to prevent a J6-style insurrection. The controversy has brought renewed scrutiny to her ratings, which remain at rock bottom since President Donald Trump’s victory last November.

Wallace, who hosts “Deadline” on weekdays between 4 and 6 p.m. EST, was sharply criticized by Trump and his allies after giving Daniel, the president’s guest at his congressional address on Tuesday, a backhanded compliment that also served as a veiled shot at Trump. The young man is in his seventh year of battling brain cancer and was made an honorary U.S. Secret Service agent by Trump during his speech.

“I hope he has a long life as a law enforcement officer. But I hope he never has to defend the U.S. Capitol against Donald Trump’s supporters. And if he does, I hope he isn’t one of the six who loses his life to suicide. And I hope he isn’t one who has to testify against the ones who carried out acts of seditious conspiracy and lived to see Donald Trump pardon those people,” Wallace told Rachel Maddow on Tuesday night following the president’s remarks.

The attention her comments received appears to be the most she has gotten in months.
