Fox host Kat Timpf reveals shock cancer diagnosis after giving birth to first baby

Fox News star Kat Timpf revealed she was diagnosed with breast cancer just hours before giving birth to her first child.

The 36-year-old remained on the air well into her third trimester, and recently shared some of the most sickening comments she's received from viewers about her baby bump.

Timpf announced she delivered her son last week in a shocking Instagram post on Tuesday.

'Last week, I welcomed by first child into the world. About fifteen hours before I went into labor, I was diagnosed with breast cancer,' she said.

'My doctors say it's stage zero and is confident that it almost certainly hasn't spread.'

She recounted the hectic day that led up to her diagnosis and how she used humor to cope with the news.

'I woke up more-than-a-week-past-due pregnant, completely consumed by doing everything I could to get the baby out,' she said.

'By the afternoon, I was waddling around from appointment to appointment, talking about how to get my cancer out.

Hoping it is easily removable, and does not recur. Prayers up. Hope the baby is healthy, too!

Stage 0 is almost not even cancer (for perspective, "spread" only happens by stage 4). Like skin cancer, if it's caught early as this case was, the odds are she will be fine. Of course, coming as she's about to have a child and will likely want to nurse it is a difficult complication.

I thought that too.  She said she was thinking about a double mastectomy.   Hard to breast feed if you do that.

I don't doubt she has good doctors, but before doing anything radical, I hope she gets a second opinion.

There are people who have genetic predispositions for certain cancers and who have had double mastectomies as a prophylactic treatment, trying to get ahead of the cancer, but that seems pretty radical to me.

A shocking thing to hear, whether stage 0 or 4. If you're praying for Kat, please also consider saying a prayer for conservative writer Megan Basham (Shepherds for Sale). A young woman,  she has stage 4 colon cancer and just completed a course of radiation.
