Such is the state of musical theater today that all the fangirls who know her almost solely for Wicked are gushing over this obvious and deliberate miscast. It would be like casting Shaq as Frankie Valli in Jersey Boys, but at least that wouldn't have the air of sacrilege these people are aiming for.

But of course it is the most 2020s thing they could have possibly conceived. Subvert, subvert, subvert! It's not worth getting outraged over it. God will not, in the long run, be mocked. So for me, this is just silly.
