What is the most expensive Super Bowl ticket in history?

Tickets for Super Bowl LIX are a hot commodity.

Fans are flocking into New Orleans to see if the Philadelphia Eagles can prevent the Kansas City Chiefs from winning their third consecutive, and some are paying a hefty price.

The average ticket price to get into the Caesars Superdome is $9,938.89, with the cheapest ticket price currently being $5,619.00 into the secondary market.

The most expensive ticket is a whopping $56,435.00. The most expensive tickets are located in the lower level near the sidelines at midfield and the VIP sections or the club level/VIP seats in the 200-level also around midfield.

When New Orleans last hosted the Super Bowl in 2013 between the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers, 71,024 fans were in attendance.

Caesars Superdome is the home of the New Orleans Saints, and they averaged 70,012 fans in their home games this season.

Taking those numbers into account, it is safe to assume a minimum of 70,000 fans will be in attendance with the final number of fans likely to come around the 71,024 fans from the last Super Bowl they hosted.

I'm not going to watch as I'm not interested in football and never have been.  I will be rooting for the KC Chiefs from a distance as KS is my home state.

Contemporary Christian singer Lauren Daigle is participating in the pre-game ceremony, singing “America the Beautiful.” I might tune in for that.  Other than that, that's about it.

Trump releases message before Super Bowl LIX

President Donald Trump released a message before Super Bowl LIX on Sunday.

“I look forward to joining the fans in New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX to cheer on two great teams—the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles—as they battle for the National Football League’s Vince Lombardi Trophy,” he said in a statement. “The coaches, players, and team staff on the field tonight represent the best of the best in professional football, but they also embody the best of the American Dream. Their hard work, dedication, and tenacity is admirable, and their individual journeys are as inspiring as the drive and determination that has led them to this extraordinary moment. They also represent the hopes and dreams of our Nation’s young athletes as we restore safety and fairness in sports and equal opportunities among their teams.

"Football is America’s most popular sport—for good reason—it fosters a sense of national unity, bringing families, friends, and fans together and strengthening communities. This annual tradition transcends our differences and personifies our shared patriotic values of family, faith, and freedom heroically defended by our military service members, law enforcement officers, and first responders. We value their devotion to protecting our great Nation and salute their selfless service.”

Trump mentioned the lives that were lost in the terror attack that took place in the city on New Year’s Day.

“This year, the Super Bowl returns to the Caesars Superdome for a record setting (11th) time.  While thousands of fans from across our Nation gather in New Orleans to cheer on their favorite team, we remember that 14 families will be missing a loved one who was tragically murdered during a senseless terrorist attack while celebrating the New Year on Bourbon Street. Our thoughts are also with the 35 individuals injured during the attack whose lives were changed forever that fateful night, and our prayers will remain with them for continued strength, comfort, and healing.

“Tonight, we look forward to a terrific game and the crowning of the Super Bowl Champions. Melania joins me in sending our best wishes for a great Super Bowl Sunday. May the best team win, and may God bless you, your family, and the United States of America.”

Will see if the rumor(s) is true:  (The date for the SuperBowl appearing in Dana Robinson's post is incorrect BTW).

Elon Musk to the Super Bowl

During the election process, Musk became a firm supporter of the Republicans and even campaigned for Donald Trump in key swing states. With the president announcing his intention to attend the Super Bowl, it looks like Musk is going to be a part of the evening too.

Whether he appears at Caesars Superdome in person remains a question, but according to the rumor mill on X (which Musk owns), the entrepreneur has five different advertisements scheduled for the event..............

Elon Musk is running Super Bowl ads. Reports indicate he's spending $40 million of his own money on five 30-second commercials that expose government waste, as found by
the Department of Government Efficiency (D.O.G.E.). These ads are scheduled to air during the Super Bowl on February 12, 2025.

Wow. Axelrod.

David Axelrod
@davidaxelrod
A year ago, Biden refused the traditional Super Bowl interview and the unparalleled audience it would have yielded.  That bewildering decision was a major sign of trouble.
Trump is all over it today.

Yup.  And who is this doc upthread on AF1 who cheers Chiefs?

I don’t like it when it looks like the NFL has it all in.  Let’s hope I’m wrong about that.

Don’t really have a problem with Chiefs except Taylor Swift…which makes me wonder if the NFL really thinks they have a gold mine if Chiefs are dynasty.  But yes, the constant playing to them, as if they’re going to win, just irks me.

I am not a fan of Daigle. And her rendition was horrid. I could only stand a few moments of it.
The dude who sang the National Anthem did better. Nothing like Chris Stapleton’s version last year though.
