Elon Musk says FEMA sent $59M last week to luxury NYC hotels to house illegal migrants: ‘Violated the law’

Elon Musk claimed early Monday that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) sent a staggering $59 million “LAST WEEK to luxury hotels in New York City to house illegal migrants.”

The world’s richest man claimed in an early morning post on X that the funneled emergency funds were “just discovered” by his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) — even as President Trump called for a complete overhaul of FEMA that could even see it shuttered.

“Sending this money violated the law and is in gross insubordination to the President’s executive order,” Musk wrote.
“That money is meant for American disaster relief and instead is being spent on high-end hotels for illegals,” continued Musk, who leads the agency tasked with cutting back on government overspending.

“A clawback demand will be made today to recoup those funds.”

Isn't it problematic for Musk to use X to distribute information, and profiting from it, while he is collecting that information as an employee of the federal government?

Wouldn't that be like an ABC investigator being hired by the federal government and then passing that information through ABC.

Musk and crew need to operate independently of his businesses while doing this.

I'm all for him pulling the lid of the sewer but he needs to do it without ethical issues to bring it down.

FEMA employees illegally sent $59 million last week (in violation of Trump's EO) to house illegal aliens in New York. Perhaps more shockingly, the money went to Pakistan thanks to a deal brokered by Sen Schumer. The Roosevelt Hotel is owned by Pakistan and is now leased by NYC to house illegal migrants. Thanks to FEMA, Pakistan has made $100 million so far out of a total $220 million deal negotiated by the city.

The Department of Homeland Security told Fox News that "four employees are being fired today for circumventing leadership and unilaterally making the egregious payment for hotels for migrants in New York City."

The firings come after Elon Musk wrote on X Monday that "The DOGE team just discovered that FEMA sent $59M LAST WEEK to luxury hotels in New York City to house illegal migrants."

"Sending this money violated the law and is in gross insubordination to the President’s executive order," Musk added. "That money is meant for American disaster relief and instead is being spent on high end hotels for illegals!"

"A clawback demand will be made today to recoup those funds," he added.

This was allegedly a back door deal between somebody and Pakistan. Allegedly the country of Pakistan owns this hotel, which was struggling before it was bought by that country. Allegedly there was a three-year contract to house illegals there. That’s a lot of allegedly and I hope somebody gives me straight facts.

The US Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) fired four employees for "egregious" payments to house migrants in luxury New York City hotels, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced Tuesday.

“Effective immediately, FEMA is terminating the employment of four individuals for circumventing leadership to unilaterally make egregious payments for luxury NYC hotels for migrants,” DHS said in a statement. Those fired include FEMA’s Chief Financial Officer, two program analysts and a grant specialist.

Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) claimed earlier that FEMA spent $59 million on luxury accommodations for migrants.

President Donald Trump criticized the agency on Truth Social, calling it “slow and totally ineffective” on Tuesday and accused it of “disobeying” by spending “tens of millions of dollars in Democrat areas.”

Reminder as DHS claws FEMA money for NYC back: The partner of Jose Ibarra, the Venezuelan illegal alien convicted of murdering Laken Riley, testified during the trial that she and Ibarra stayed at NYC's Roosevelt Hotel and received migrant services there at taxpayer expense. They also took a humanitarian flight to Georgia together, also at taxpayer expense.

The luxury nonsense has to end. At best, these folks should be put up in tents until they are deported.

Trump would be wise to end FEMA and fold them into another agency. FEMA's record of helping those suffering from disasters is spotty at best.

I consider the Biden Admin's channeling of FEMA money for illegal invading aliens to be a criminal event. Biden and his idiocracy caused this disaster with the illegal invading aliens. All involved should be criminally charged with something.

It explains why many of these "sanctuary cities" spend large amounts of the public's money due to a problem they themselves created.

That is certainly one of the theories, but under the hood many got very wealthy greasing the illegal alien skids with no need to ever become citizens.
