Trans Best Actress Nominee, Trump, Intersex Pope: Woke Hollywood to Take Center Stage at Oscars

Breitbart News 24 Jan 2025

The Oscar nominations were unveiled Thursday, with Netflix’s “Emilia Perez” leading the charge on a whopping 13 nods.

Here are five takeaways from the 97th Academy Awards nominations announcement:
Progressive Hollywood

The United States may have swung to the political right by re-electing President Donald Trump and putting the Republicans in charge of both houses of Congress, but Tinseltown’s progressive politics were on full display Thursday.

Frontrunner “Emilia Perez” boasts the first ever openly trans acting nominee in Karla Sofia Gascon — even if the movie’s approach to LGBTQ representation was dubbed “retrograde” by advocacy group GLAAD.

“The Brutalist,” a three-and-a-half-hour epic about a Holocaust survivor moving to the post-war United States, celebrates the key role of immigrants in building the world’s leading economy.

It earned 10 nods. So did Broadway adaptation “Wicked,” which promotes tolerance regardless of skin color, and warns against authoritarianism.

And there were two surprise acting nominations for “The Apprentice,” a biopic about the young Trump that has drawn legal threats for its unsavory depiction of his formative years.

The only Oscars I know are Oscar Madison and Oscar The Grouch.

They’ll find a way to put the new celebrity bishop front and center.

And maybe Jennifer Aniston can bring her new squeeze, Barack, as her +1. Wouldn’t that be a hoot?

I saw a short video clip on the news from that tranny "musical" film. Good grief, it was grotesque and awful.

  • Great President, but a 'do-nothing' Congress
All of this 'crappola' is exactly why I don't TV and definitely won't be watching the Oscars.

Hollywood needs to get a reckoning that most of us don't really give a damn about their 'wokeness'.

As for this pope ... I think he's shameful.
Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly; do not claim to be wiser than you are. Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.   Romans 12:16-18

I have seen promos for that... and I'm perplexed.

Brutalist architecture is some of the ugliest design known to man. The end of this movie, according to Wikipedia, is this:

Quote
A now adult Zsófia, accompanied by her young adult daughter (who is the spitting image of Zsófia) and an aging László, gives a speech highlighting how the Van Buren community center was designed by László to resemble the concentration camps that imprisoned the Tóths, and functions as a way of processing trauma.
That's the climax, the great triumph? That we're supposed to accept the lead characters God-awful work because the architect was traumatized? An ugly community center built to remind people of the worst travesties in modern world history?

What idiot-who-thinks-this-is-genius greenlit this garbage? It screams of being a cynical Oscar-bait ploy.

I don't mind a good art-film story for art's sake, but this is just a bad story.

@SonnyBunch
The movie championed by normie liberals in Hollywood for its empathy and inclusiveness being derailed because the first trans best actress nominee is a Hitler apologist is by far the funniest way the EMILIA PÉREZ saga could’ve played out. A-plus work everyone.
