FAST FACTS

Three wildfires are burning in Los Angeles County, including the Pacific Palisades and Sylmar neighborhoods of Los Angeles and another near the City of Pasadena.

As of early Wednesday, the fires are zero percent contained, officials say

California Gov. Gavin Newsom has declared a state of emergency, warning that the worst of the winds were expected between 10 p.m. Tuesday and 5 a.m. Wednesday.

More than 30,000 residents are under evacuation orders.

More than 200,000 people were without power in Los Angeles County by Tuesday evening.

The fires are being pushed by Santa Ana winds from the east, and officials warn the worst is yet to come.

Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson Margaret Stewart told “Fox & Friends” Wednesday morning that the wildfires raging in her city are “dynamic and dangerous” and are “continuing to grow.”

“We are in extreme wind conditions. We have winds sustained and gusting over 80 mph, which is hurricane force. It is not possible to stop a fire that is wind-driven like this, with this kind of topography, from the ground,” she said.

“We need to be able to fly our aircraft. Our helicopters cannot fly under this wind condition. They are continually evaluating it. Unfortunately the winds are not forecasted to lessen over the next hours,” she continued.

“This is a dynamic and dangerous fire that is continuing to grow. We do have many structures damaged and destroyed but we are not able to quantify that at this time,” Stewart also said. “And we have had injuries to both firefighters and civilians.”

Excerpt:
As Los Angeles battles a growing wildfire crisis, anger is mounting over leadership decisions within the city’s fire department. Critics have zeroed in on LA Fire Chief Kristin Crowley, the first female and LGBTQ+ fire chief in the department’s history, after a resurfaced video highlighted her priorities of promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) over fire preparedness.

This is dejavu (New Orleans police chief). This insanity has to stop. If those diverse people are qualified, that's fine. Otherwise, get some damned experienced people in there! DEI shouldn't be a priority when we're talking firefighters and cops!

AXIOS writer Andrew Freedman pushes the "climate change" BS as cause of the California fires.

Steve Milloy
@JunkScience
Axios @afreedma  has nothing but hot air to back his claim that the Palisades fire is a "climate change" event:
1. The Pacific Palisades fire broke out in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation area. No one know what started it. Camper? Arsonist? Power line?
2. There has been no warming in the area, only recent drought. But it's been dry there before.
3. The last two very wet years have left plenty of dried out brush that was not cleaned up. Why not?
4. The Santa Ana winds are a natural phenomenon.

It seems to burn every year..

As it will be in the future, it was at the birth of Man
There are only four things certain since Social Progress began.
That the Dog returns to his Vomit and the Sow returns to her Mire,
And the burnt Fool's bandaged finger goes wabbling back to the Fire;

High winds and fire are a deadly combination. Once a fire gets established and the winds are 60+ MPH the only thing that stops it is running out of fuel, be it vegetation or manmade. It becomes a high temperature blow torch.

Everyone knew it was coming. Two very wet years followed by a dry one. Lots of fuel, and lots of people to set it off.

LAFD firefighters are running out of water as they battle three massive wildfires in Los Angeles County. “The hydrants are down,” one firefighter stated over the radio. “Water supply just dropped,” another said.

“Our first responders and our firefighters who are trying to battle this, there’s no water in the Palisades. There’s no water coming out of the fire hydrants.

“It looks like we’re in a third-world country here.”

“This was a disaster waiting to happen.” -Rick Caruso

The three fires, Palisades, Eaton, and Hurst, have scorched a combined 4,000 acres with 0% containment.

Just imagine how much more terrible things would be if the fire chief weren't DEI!!!

Los Angeles recently appointed its very 1st female, LGBTQ+ fire chief with the goal of recruiting more women & gay firefighters

https://twitter.com/EndWokeness/status/1876862583929553137
Only a complete idiot would have that as a goal instead of the goal of fire mitigation and control as #1

It should not be necessary to point this out, but county fire chiefs have zero authority over reservoirs in their counties.

Per this State of CA webpage, https://cdec.water.ca.gov/resapp/RescondMain , all but one major reservoir in the state is at or above historic average.

I realize there are conservatives who want to believe that California has no reservoirs, and California just lets all its rain and snow run into the ocean, but reality is very different.
I am not and never have been a leftist.

If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

I believe it highly likely that there will be an enhanced exodus from California and L.A. especially to escape from the brutality of DEI and its insanity.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass Cut Fire Budget by Nearly $20 Million

Joel B. Pollak8 Jan 2025244

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass (D), who was on a trip to Ghana when fire engulfed large portions of the city, cut nearly $20 million from the city’s budget for fire services for the current fiscal year — and proposed even higher cuts.

As the Westside Current reported in April 2024, Bass proposed about $23 million in cuts to the fire department:

Significantly, the proposal — described by Bass a “reset” — includes $65 million in cuts to her signature Inside Safe homelessness] program; an increase of more than $138 million for the Los Angeles Police Department; and a decrease of about $23 million for the L.A. Fire Department.

However, the proposal would increase funding for the fire department to support the Emergency Appointment Paramedic Program, with city officials noting the LAFD responds to more calls for service related to medical emergencies than other categories.

In addition, another $2.5 million would bring new equipment and technology updates for the LAFD, prompted by the aftermath fire beneath the Santa Monica (10) Freeway that forced a temporary close of the road.

There are 2 in that video. Wonder about drones.

It’s not a firework it goes too far, it’s not a propane tank they are designed to flip end over end when they bleve, plus it’s too strait of a trajectory.
In the first video it even curved up, this is a projectile.

This is strangely like the Maui fires!

"Karen Bass is on a foreign trip to Ghana.”

WTH is she doing over there, comparing LA's 3rd world status with an original 3rd world area and looking for pointers.

10:58 AM — Video shows Governor Gavin Newsom thanking Mayor Karen Bass — who is currently in Ghana — on Tuesday.
