Liberal Leftist publication but not all these ideas are terrible.

We need to stop calling the liberals.  They aren't, they stole the name from us.  Liberal originally meant supporting free speech, freedom of religion, freedom of conscience and free markets.  In America it's the Conservatives who want to conserve the quintessentially liberal event in human history, the American Founding.  The Left are the heirs of Rousseau and Marx and are not liberal, though they tried to make their ideas acceptable in America by adopting that name (which we let them do).  The Aussies still have it right, their center-right party is the Liberal Party.
And when they behead your own people in the wars which are to come, then you will know what this was all about.

Our elected officials adhering to the Constitution is what is needed. Without our Rule of Law enforced and adhered to, we will continue to have turmoil. We have certain rights afforded to us under the 'Bill of Rights' and those should not be infringed upon.

Fair enough.

To me though, housing is THE pre-eminent issue at the moment.  Nothing else impoverishes people more than housing costs. Medical and vehicle debt at a distant second maybe.

There are more homeless people than ever before, however does a lot of that have to do with the ILLEGAL immigration crisis at the border?

I'd say housing is at the top of the list along with food insecurity.  There are people who are working more than one job and still can't make ends meet nor feed their families.  I won't get into the cost of ILLEGAL immigration's impact on the two, but I'd say many are at  a tipping point and rightfully so.

Yes you are correct. I'm not sure if deportation would fix the issue entirely but it would probably help.

All I know is that if my house wasn't paid for, I couldn't afford to live. I feel sorry for young people and folks with kids.

A couple of years ago, I thought it might be prudent to move closer to family in Dallas. I checked out housing. Houses and apartments are stupid expensive. So I'll stay here and hope for the best.

This city has grown too much for our liking, but because of cost and other variables we're staying put too and hoping for the best.

Because of inflation and interest rates rising, housing has become unaffordable for most. With the cost of groceries, gas, and basic necessities @ berdie I don't know either how people with kids right now are affording to make ends meet.

The biggest housing policy idea of all is for government to balance its books so that interest rates would fall and so that there would be plenty of money available for borrowers.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-

IMO you need to look at the simple math involved, without adding housing to the market, no money-only solution will work, not UBI, not interest rates, etc. They will only work if they spurred housing construction. It's basic math. Lack of housing is a physical problem with a physical solution.

Basic law of "Supply vs Demand"

Deport all the border jumpers and housing costs will sink in 'sanctuary' zip codes.
