This is controlled airspace. It is controlled to keep planes and other aircraft from running into each other. Having aircraft in that space which are not authorized nor subject to tower control (headings, altitude, speed) greatly increases the possibility of mid air collisions. If birds can kill a jet engine, it stands to reason the drones could do the same. If shooting down someone's 'toy' saves an aircraft worth tens of millions, not to mention crew and passengers, I'm good with it, especially since this is controlled airspace and the 'toy' is violating it.
