Just my $.02 in the process of finding and selecting a mate.  Been with mine over 40 years.   

There are about 47 things couples can fuss about.  Why make politics No.48.  And honestly, I passed on a few from the left, just for that reason, and not having to deal with it at Thanksgiving, and Christmas Dinners.
