Most politicians, including Republicans, appear at many times to take themselves far too seriously, regardless of the relative seriousness of the public issues that they routinely opine on.
Donald Trump, at least in his present incarnation, is clearly
having fun.
He loves his crowds, and has no compunction about letting them know that he loves them back. He speaks off the cuff naturally, unlike Kamala, who reads what others have written for her unless the teleprompter suddenly breaks down, in which case she is at a painful loss for words... salad.
Trump can go on at length forever, sometimes to his detriment, but nonetheless he relishes the opportunities and just has a great old time of it.
Whether this is a recipe for effective governance remains to be seen, but it wins over the people - perhaps a majority of them - who are notably sick and tired of endless, formulaic political bullshit.
Trump is genuine and real and maybe after years of scripted political garbage - that is exactly what we need.
