Silent prayer has been criminalised. The rubicon has been crossed. We have thoughtcrime in the United Kingdom.

She Was Arrested for Praying in Her Head
Citizens in the UK have been arrested, prosecuted, and convicted for silently praying outside abortion clinics. Even organizing pro-life meetings in your own home may be a criminal offense.
By Madeleine Kearns
October 24, 2024

Emma has strong feelings about abortion: She wears T-shirts that say things like “Pro-life and Proud.” A devout Catholic, she is a trustee of a pro-life activism group and regularly holds planning meetings at her flat in Edinburgh, Scotland. On her way to work at an office in the center of town, the 24-year-old passes the abortion facility at nearby Chalmers Hospital. Sometimes, she prays with rosary beads as she walks by.

But now she’s worried she could get arrested in her neighborhood—for wearing that T-shirt, for holding those meetings, or even for praying in her head.

On October 4, Emma, who asked not to be named, got a letter from the Scottish government. Addressed “Dear Resident,” its purpose was to alert her that her home, due to its proximity to the hospital, is now in an abortion censorship zone.

This is due to the UK’s brand-new “Safe Access” law, which came into effect September 24 and made it a criminal offense to do anything within 200 meters of an abortion facility that could “influence” someone’s decision to access, provide, or facilitate an abortion. In the Scottish government’s letter, Emma read that even “activities in a private place (such as a house) within the area could be an offence if they can be seen or heard within the Zone and are done intentionally or recklessly.” ...

Not allowed to pray, not allowed to express an opinion. Good luck with all that, Great Britain.

A British man wrote on social media that he doesn’t want to see Palestinian flags all over the UK. The police then showed up to his house at 4am to arrest him.

A young woman in Staffordshire, England has been sentenced to 9 months in prison for livestreaming the aftermath of an anti-mass migration riot in July and saying the people should go to other migrant hotels.

The judge said Cameron Bell's comments had the "potential" to incite violence.

Like other poor working-class whites who were arrested and had no resources for legal counsel, she pleaded guilty early on and was fired from her place of employment as a care worker.

In July, an African male allegedly carried out a mass stabbing on little girls having a dance party in Southport. Three girls died. Suspect Axel Rudakubana was charged with three counts of murder, 10 of attempted murder, possession of a knife, production of biological toxin, ricin and possession of information (Islamic terrorist material) likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing to commit an act of terrorism.

You cannot "COEXIST" with people who want to kill you.
If they kill their own with no conscience, there is nothing to stop them from killing you.
Rational fear and anger at vicious murderous Islamic terrorists is the same as irrational antisemitism, according to the Leftists.

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.
Sorry, but the Crown should have to prove they knew what the accused was thinking.
Demonstrations should be called for (of the ability to read minds, not running around outside).
This could cause an interesting time in court.
But if the burden of proof is on the prosecution, then prove it.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

It hit me how absurdly dystopian life in the UK has devolved to when my significant other had to have “the talk” with me.

I was fixing something up in the kitchen when he made me stop what I was doing to make sure sure I’d fully absorb his solemn warning.

“Listen to me. If and when the doorbell rings and it’s the police, do not answer it without pressing the record button.

The chances are high that they will come by to investigate a tweet or post or even meme. Make sure you have your phone with you to record everything.”

I went back to what I was doing. But later that evening, I realized how ludicrous things must’ve have gotten to make his exhortation a necessity.

This just underscores how far England - the nation that, in 1215, put out the world’s first statement of the principles of liberty, the Magna Carta - has fallen.

It was the historical and philosophical foundation that paved the way of assuring free speech, freedom of expression and a free press. The American Constitution and its First Amendment can trace its intellectual inheritance to the Magna Carta.

Not even the experience of spending the first 17 years of my life growing up in Singapore - famously known for draconian speech laws - prepared me for this. The only “talk” I was subjected to was the typical one about the birds and the bees.

It is unsettling that UK police resources are being spent on policing speech (a victimless crime) rather than actual crimes such as assault, stabbings and rapes; that prisoners serving time for serious crimes are released to make room for those guilty of mere thoughtcrimes.

It’s utterly jarring that the country that brought you the subversive comedy of Monty Python could succumb to Karenism and destroy its culture of dissent and irreverence.

It’s really disquieting that a nation that historically spilled so much blood to fight tyranny is welcoming tyranny at home.

We have now sunk to a depth at which we are wasting time and bandwidth debating the legality of tweets, worried about when (not just “if” anymore) the police will come knocking. We now have children logged by the police for “non-crime hate incidents” - in other words, for just being children trying to figure out their place in the world.

It’s time to turn things around. It’s already getting very dark here.

The current Prime Minister tweeted this:

Keir Starmer
@Keir_Starmer
As Director of Public Prosecutions, I saw the terrible effect of anti-social behaviour first hand - and fought for justice for victims.
As Prime Minister, I am delivering on my promise to tackle it with new Respect Orders, so people face the consequences of their actions.

Oh my goodness… He’s being serious.
They are going after “anti-social behavior”. What Orwell called a “thought crime”.
Go to hell,  @Keir_Starmer, you fascist POS dictator. You belong in jail.
Is that too “anti-social”?

I'd say it's time for the pitchforks and torches.  Unfortunately, the UK is so limp at this point I fear all society has to fight back with are stale crumpets and foul language.
Oh wait, cross out foul language.
Now you know what societal castration looks like.

Unbelievable!
In a time of universal deceit - telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

The Brits VOTED FOR this.
Vote for "Labor"... and you get communists.
Haven't they learned this yet?

If not, well, too bad for them.

In 20 years the muzzies will be running the UK, in any case.

They vote for leftists and Muslims, and then wonder why their country is such a wreck.

The threat of people exercising the right of free speech is serious enough to put James Bond on the case.  :silly:
