I believe she has insomnia. I do not believe that a Vice President currently living in Vice President quarters with a Vice President staff (including a cooking staff) went to Kroger at 5 a.m. to buy a pork roast. That would have been a news event if true. But of course she is just lying again trying so desperately to appear as just a regular American.
I believe the insomnia because Kamala is scared to death of this entire process. She is scared to death of 'actually' becoming POTUS. Kamala's life has been about hanging on to others who are actually in power. I do not think she likes the idea of being on the frontlines leading the charge. Kamala is more of a 'background person' opportunist.
All the fake laughter is intended to hide her visceral terror of actually winning this thing. This is why I can see the fear in her eyes so many times when she speaks. Kamala is in very far way over her head and is scared to death. This whole scenario is well past the Peter Principle. We are now hurdling toward a "Chauncey Gardiner" or "Forrest Gump" situation in which a simpleton is suddenly pushed into power through no fault of their own.
Kamala is not an intelligent person. But she is aware enough of her predicament to realize what she is getting herself into. No wonder she cannot sleep. I am sure she would much rather be the person behind the throne than to be the one in charge.
