How the Dems learned how to delay Vote tallies to their advantage

@corbe Aug 28, 2024

   On this date 83 years ago (1941) LBJ (TX-10) was certified the loser in his first bid for a US Senate seat to W. Lee O'Daniel (D) by 1,311 votes. O'Daniel won by withholding vote tallies in certain East and South Texas counties until after the statewide totals were released, giving LBJ no time, or clue as to how many votes he had to 'manufacture'.

   BOX 13

   Six years later LBJ was wiser when he ran for the US Senate again against Coke Stevenson.

   The Democratic State Central Committee (who counted the votes) took a week. Johnson won by 87 votes out of 988,295. Six days after the election political boss George Parr of Jim Wells County, produced the infamous Box 13 with 608 ballots, the last 200 of those were in alphabetical order and written with the same pen and handwriting. LBJ won and the rest is History.

   The dems have learned a lot in the last 83 years as evident in 2020 shutting down the counting and waiting to see how many votes they have to 'manufacture'.
