The mainstreaming of socialism by the Democrats is picking up steam and a top contender to be Kamala Harris’s running mate seems to believe that it’s downright neighborly.

Putting a sunny spin on a political ideology that has led to the death of tens of millions of people throughout history, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz raised eyebrows with his remarks during a Monday night “White Dudes for Harris” call.

“Don’t ever shy away from our progressive values,” Walz said. “One person’s socialism is another person’s neighborliness.”

Socialism today and throughout history are fascist murderous neighbors with guns and forced work reeducation camps.
Like these nice people who murdered, imprisoned, and enslaved millions of their neighbors.



The foundation of Socialism is and always has been about pure power/domination and abject control of every aspect of society. Socialists ALWAYS believe they are smarter, and they know better how you should live your life.

Socialists will scream, "We are doing this for your own good!" even while they steal your money, burn your house, and put you and your family in prison.

When people think of socialist countries, they point to the Nordic countries

Those are not socialist countries. Their economies are more free than ours.

But knowing Tim Walz, he probably is referring to systems in Nicaragua, Cuba, and hopefully not much longer, Venezuela

To be fair, the Labour governments in the UK were committed socialists until the Blair government (Tony Blair is quoted as saying "We're all Thatcherites now."), and simply dragged the British economy down and saddled them with the now-failing National Health Service, state-run railway and other economic absurdities, all without mass murder, reeducation camps or even trampling on the norms of the Anglo-Saxon legal tradition which is the basis for the British and American conception of liberty.

Socialism is not coextensive with Marxism, though all existing socialist movements must be held in suspicion not merely because of their economic illiteracy, but because they are at best tinged with Marxist thinking, at worst run by actual committed Marxists.

There was a Minneapolis City Council member in 2020 that said that calling the police to protect your property against anyone black  was a sign of white supremacy

I grew up in Minnesota and Minneapolis used to be a decent place to go visit

Now the only reason I go to Minneapolis is to fly out of the airport. It has descended into progressive Hell
