During the last two decades, youth suicide has increased significantly. From 2007 through 2021, suicide rates for Americans ages 10 to 24 rose 62%, according to the CDC.

Nothing harder to deal with than realizing that no matter how good you may feel about yourself, that your level of actual success is not matching your feelings. That would be a hard wake up call, and most kids nowadays are not taught to handle it. Those who can accept where they are and then make and implement plans to improve will do OK. It will be hard, but much worth accomplishing is, and if they recognize their accomplishments they will earn self-respect, which is less fragile than self-esteem.

Why?  Because contrary to popular psychobabble, self-esteem is not a virtue, it is a sin, and actually one that can lead one to fall into despair when you discover you aren't actually as wonderful as you thought you were.

The same forces supposedly bolstering their self-esteem are haranguing them with the notion of "changing" their sex, because how they were born simply isn't good enough.

And why are so many wanting to change their gender? Doesn't this lunacy contradict the high self esteem argument?

I assume the Logan City school district officials believe they're doing a bang up job of building self-esteem.
