Make labor costs more expensive for employers and they’ll reduce labor. Either progressives are really that ignorant or this is done intentionally for reasons only they know

They really are that ignorant.  They also assume that raising taxes won't dampen economic activity so that if a tax rate of 30% brought in $30 billion over some period of time, a tax rate of 60% will bring in $60 billion over the same period of time.
