Bidenomics: Fast Food Costs Soar — McChicken up 199%, Frosty up 111%, Taco Bell Burrito up 132%

Wendell Husebø 22 May 2024

Fast food is no longer healthy for your wallet. Common fast food favorites increased in price under President Joe Biden’s so-called Bidenomics.

Fast food inflation has a disparate impact across racial and ethnic groups due to different levels of fast food consumption. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 42.4 percent of non-Hispanic black adults consume fast food, compared with 37.6 percent of non-Hispanic white adults, 35.5 percent of Hispanic adults, and 30.6 percent of Asian adults.

The higher price tag of popular foods may be creating political problems for Biden. Thirty percent of black men and 11 percent of black women intend to vote for former President Donald Trump, a Wall Street Journal poll found, a dramatic increase from 2020.

Popeyes, Taco Bell, and Chipotle raised prices by at least 75 percent, according to the Food Institute:

Popeyes Regular Mashed Potatoes & Gravy (+134 percent)
    Taco Bell’s Beefy 5-Layer Burrito (+132 percent)
    Wendy’s Small Frosty (+111 percent)
Taco Bell Chalupa Supreme (+110 percent)
Burger King Small Icee (+101 percent)
Taco Bell Cheesy Gordita Crunch (+100 percent)
    McDonalds McChicken (+199%)

Prices in nearly 500 California Chipotle restaurants spiked from six percent to seven percent during just the first week of April, the Journal reported.

Chick-fil-A raised prices by 10.6 percent between mid-February and mid-April, Gordon Haskett Research Advisors estimated, along with Starbucks by 7.8 percent and Shake Shack by 7.7 percent.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Minimum wage hikes?

The article doesn't address that but it has to play a role with increased prices especially in Ca.

Biden blames Trump and Corporate greed for the increases...

Biden's war on oil has contributed to raising the price of fuel post-covid (part of that is returning demand, but on the supply end, the Keystone XL pipeline could have replaced about half of the 1.5 million BOPD supply that was lost when stripper wells were Plugged and abandoned during COVID).

Artificially, indirectly, raise the price of motor fuels while trying to pimp EVs, and the result is that the extra fuel costs become a surcharge on everything shipped, and that's just about everything. In large part, the increase in cost of supplies and materials, right down to the broccoli on the grocery stores shelves, ties directly back to Biden's Energy Policy, and pandering to the whole Ecowhacko lobby.

Naturally, that means if you are selling something, those costs have to be recouped, and the help will want more money so they can maintain their standard of living, too.

It's a vicious cycle, and he set it in motion day one.

1.) Increased cost of energy
2.) Increased cost of labor
3.) Increased cost of Government regulation
4.) Increased cost of transportation
5.) Increased cost of shelter
6.) Increased cost of higher education
7.) Increased cost of medical care
8.) Increased cost of higher taxes
9.) Increased cost of imports

Bidenomics does nothing to solve any of these, and makes some worse.

Increase 1, 3, and 4, and all else gets more expensive.

Damn that Trump, out of office for over three years and apparently still setting policy! And How dare those bastard greedy corporations raise prices to partially cover the rising food, labor and utility costs, not to mention higher M&R costs, to give their investors a return on their dollars. This greedy corporations schtick is getting really old even with demonrats and blaming Trump, Joe's the one in charge or does he think it's still 2021? yeah that's probably it because his brain has melted faster than a ice cream cone in an Arizona summer.
