Whatever his state of mind, he felt deeply enough about it to immolate himself, something I would not wish on anyone.
As for how he is doing, my guess is medium well. A minute lit up that thoroughly will likely prove fatal.
A note to folks who have what can be described as "conspiracy theories": If you have done good research, from reliable sources, and have something solid, at least stick around until you can say "I told you so!", whether you actually say it or not.
