They hate a Donald J. Trump a billionaire Populist and Capitalist who wants to concentrate on building the U.S.A back to the greatness we all felt growing up...because he went along with the response to Covid-19 and embraced crazy Stimulus Spending which increased the nation's debt.
Nobody here hates Trump. Trump hasn’t done anything to me personally that would make me hate him. The “hate Trump” line is used by his supporters when they know they can’t defend Trump intellectually on the issues. It’s the same tactic the left uses when the scream “racism” when they can’t defend their arguments
But he made a lot of mistakes during his tenure and he’s promising to double down on those mistakes
Donald Trump entered office with an economy that was already growing. He left with office with an economy in shambles and laid the groundwork for inflation. And he still thinks he did a great job with his Covid response. That tells me he will follow the same formula should another pandemic hit. And the debt was already growing even before Covid
I don’t know why it’s hard for MAGAs to grasp the concept that if you print trillions and trillions of dollars and send it out in the economy, inflation is the result
He wants more tariffs despite the fact that his first ones triggered a trade war and hurt the economy. Those tariffs are always passed on to the consumer. And throw those higher prices on top of inflation.
Neither Trump nor Biden have any realistic plans to deal with the issues facing us. But on the economy, when looking at what both men want to do, Biden is slightly better than Trump. Biden isn’t proposing protectionist tariffs and isn’t proposing the screwy idea of pressuring the Federal Reserve to drop interest rates at a time when Americans are reaping the “benefits” of the Trump/Biden inflationary economy. Dropping interest rates right now would horribly punish savers
And yet, there are still his supporters that can’t understand why many of us don’t want to vote for that.
I’m not obligated to vote for any candidate just to satisfy his supporters emotional need for a win. You mentioned something about outcomes in your post. That’s right. Policies and issues and the resulting outcomes and consequences do matter
“He’s not Biden” isn’t enough. This election is, to me, more about simply owning the other side than really fixing the issues that face us. When it comes to Trump, we have record and reality vs the fantasy his voters have created
I have read right here that Donald Trump had to go along with all that Covid spending otherwise Democrats would have been mad at him. I also see the same argument when it comes to spending and more specifically entitlement reform. Why should I vote for somebody who is more aligned with Democrats on the biggest issue threatening this country’s long-term fiscal and economic health?
The only issue that Trump has any credibility on over Joe Biden is the border.
Should he win, I would love to be proven wrong. But, based on current proposals and past history, I won’t be
