I checked a few minutes ago. Few clouds, so we got a good look. Pretty cool.
The near-total eclipse (somewhere around 95%) will happen in 46 minutes.

Got to see totality here, the clouds broke up just enough. Amazing being able to see the corona around the shadow of the moon.

Socked in with clouds. Still the veil lifted just a tad and just saw what was somewhere between 80-90% occlusion

We are too far out of the path. Got a small break in the clouds to see it with regular sunglasses. Only about 30%..

Maximum totality was 10 minutes ago at my house on the Texas Gulf Coast. Only about 90% totality, but still AWESOME!

Partial; about 52% here --I guess I should have gone to the library to get glasses, it just looks overcast out and windy. It supposedly affects pets -- our dogs could care less. They are playing with their squeaky toys and chew toys. It has already peaked and should be over in an hour.

We peaked about 7 minutes ago, and it was like dusk (we were around 93%). Saw just a sliver of sunlight on the left side of the golden orb. Now it's lightening up a bit.

I had the same view you did. Just got dark, but the sun was not visible except for a few seconds just before the total eclipse. Funny how now that the world has come to an end nothing feels different.

The birds seemed to behave in their normal fashion. I heard seagulls, mockingbirds and mourning doves during the eclipse. An egret and a squirrel were seeking food in the neighbor's yard as they normally do. I couldn't discern any difference.

Same here much north of you @Bigun ...without the rain...yet. But it's on it's way. I watched the Dallas news and they evidently got a break in the clouds...not moi, lol. It did get night time dark. I feel bad for the people that made reservations a long time ago that cost big bucks. And I sure hope they get home ok before the weather gets yucky.

I got to explain it to an 8 year old, who was really amazed. Then he ruined it all by asking me where Uranus was.
