President Biden’s reelection campaign on Monday announced that it will aim to flip Florida, targeting the home of former President Trump.

Campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez said in a memo that investing in Florida is part of the Biden campaign’s pathway to 270 electoral votes. Trump won the Sunshine State in 2020 with over 51 percent, compared to Biden’s under 48 percent.

“Make no mistake: Florida is not an easy state to win, but it is a winnable one for President Biden, especially given Trump’s weak, cash-strapped campaign, and serious vulnerabilities within his coalition,” she said.

Chavez Rodriguez noted that the Biden campaign hired three operatives to run the campaign in Florida and that the state was part of the fall and spring ad buys, which were $25 million and $30 million spends, respectively. She also outlined that the Biden campaign has been focused on Latino outreach, and Florida has a large Cuban, Venezuelan, and Puerto Rican population.

She called Florida “a state where President Biden has a compelling story of results, Trump and Rick Scott’s extreme agenda is making Floridians’ lives worse, and the Democratic coalition is growing and energized.”

Chavez Rodriguez outlined that abortion will be on the ballot in Florida, where the state Supreme Court issued a ruling to put a six-week ban into effect on May 1. Democrats see abortion as a winning issue for them in 2024 after experiencing better-than-expected results in the midterm elections months after Roe v. Wade was overturned.

Biden campaign says Florida in play after court paves way for abortion ballot measure

President Joe Biden’s campaign is projecting optimism that he can flip Florida after the state’s Supreme Court this week permitted Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R-FL) six-week abortion ban to become law.

In a memo, the Biden campaign condemned DeSantis’s legislation, which it said would start “ripping away access to reproductive care before many women know they are pregnant” in 30 days. Biden’s aides also used the opportunity to criticize Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL), who is seeking reelection this year.

“This new, extreme abortion ban — one that Donald Trump personally paved the way for — will now amount to a ban for the entire Southeast,” Biden campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez said in a Monday memo. “Women in need of reproductive care throughout the region now face a choice between putting their lives at risk or traveling hundreds or thousands of miles to get care.”

In a separate decision Monday, Florida’s Supreme Court also ruled that a proposed constitutional amendment aimed at expanding abortion access to about 24 weeks of pregnancy could appear on the state’s ballots in November.

“With an abortion amendment officially on the ballot this November in Florida, President Biden and Vice President Harris and their commitment to fighting back against Donald Trump and Rick Scott’s attacks on reproductive freedom will help mobilize and expand the electorate in the state, given the overwhelming majority of Floridians support abortion rights,” Chavez Rodriguez said. “Florida Republicans will be forced to defend their cruel, indefensible support of this abortion ban.”

Biden's Gen Z handlers think this a wedge issue for him to campaign on to win FL this November.  That might be the case in any other year.  But polls show that Killing the unborn is like no. 6 on the list of top concern of Floridians.
They are:
Illegal Immigration.
Cost of living
Cost of health care
Cost of Housing
Cost of Insurance.
Abortion.

Democrats are eyeing Florida as a state they can make gains in as it is on the verge of having one of the strictest abortion bans in the country and abortion rights will be directly on the ballot there in November.

The Florida Supreme Court upheld the state's 15-week abortion ban on Monday and paved the way for a six week ban to go into effect in 30 days. Six weeks is often before a woman knows she is pregnant.

The ruling was met with outrage by Democrats and abortion rights activists in the state and nationally, but it could also be an energizing issue going into the November election.

President Biden called the decision outrageous on Tuesday.

'Yesterday’s extreme decision puts desperately needed medical care even further out of reach for millions of women in Florida and across the South,' the president said in a statement.

'This decision means that millions of women in Florida and across the Southeast will likely live in an even more cruel reality where they face a choice between putting their lives at risk or traveling hundreds or thousands of miles to get care,' said Vice President Kamala Harris, who has taken a leading role on reproductive rights in the administration, in a separate statement.

Sanders said, “Last year, when Republican legislators in Florida passed that six-week abortion ban, and they passed it because people were coming to Florida to get abortions because it was one of the only places left in the southeast where you could get an abortion if that was the care that you needed. Ron DeSantis didn’t like that, so he pressured the legislature to pass an even stricter abortion ban and they wrote in that provision that if the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the 15-week, the six-week would automatically go into effect. That’s why we have this 30 days.”

She added, “So, Democrats — I just read this in Punchbowl News before I came on — are launching, particularly in Florida today, their field hearings, House Democrats. It is obvious what they are trying to do.  Flip TX and FL and the DEMS remain in power. 

With that being said, there's nothing that can be done -- the game has been over for awhile (at least in my opinion).

With that many ILLEGALS being flown in -- Miami is going to be a worse hell hole than it already is. The whole country will experience the same -- it's just a matter of time.  With a slim majority in the House -- I'd say amnesty along with voting rights for ILLEGALS is not too far off.

535 members of Congress don't give a darn -- most are sitting back watching our country being invaded and destroyed. Hey, as long as the DEMS stay in power -- things will be good for them.  They are in for a rude awakening as our country cannot sustain.

As a side note -- it will be interesting to see what action DeSantis takes.
