That's what they said. I noticed that was not a US Government plate on the vehicle.
Oklahoma does not require a front plate (like 19 or so states), which is why she had to walk around the back of the vehicle to get a view of the plate. I am not sure if the vehicle is a rental. Maybe someone out there knows. Failure to produce ID for inspection, (flash that thing at me and it might as well have come from a gumball machine), and I have to get the range to read it. I would think that in the mayhem of getting the dogs to settle down, she didn't see the IDs.
As for looking up the number for the office (google?), I might not know many numbers, but I can surely recall the one where I work, especially if I was talking with lots of people, because I'd likely have had to give it out a lot.
No business cards? Even the meter maids in these parts (in the bigger towns) have business cards.
So I'm not buying their legitimacy as Feds, but then Feds doing illegitimate things just might be reticent when it comes to providing their info.
