Lost and repressed books of scripture fire the imagination.  From the Book of Enoch, the Gospel of Thomas or the Apocryphon of John, these mysterious books profoundly intrigue us.  But, of the books of the Hebrew Bible / Old Testament we actually know of several, perhaps dozens of ancient lost works of Israelite Scripture.  This episode explores those texts.  From the Book of the Wars of Yahweh, the Sefer Yashar, Royal Annals, lost books of Prophecy, obscure poetry and even the plan for the first Temple revealed to King David.  What do we know about these books? Have any of them been recovered?  What can we reveal about the religion of ancient Israel by exploring these lost books? And, are there also lost books referenced in the New Testament as well?
