Old Joe Biden Says He Took Train Across the Collapsed Francis Scott Key Bridge “Many Times” – That’s Odd, Considering the Bridge Does Not Have a Rail Line!

Joe Biden told reporters on Tuesday that he hade taken the TRAIN over the Francis Scott Key Bridge “many times.”

    Joe Biden: “About 1:30 a container ship struck the Francis Scott Key Bridge which I’ve been over many, many times commuting from the state of Delaware either by train or by car.”

That’s odd, considering their is no rail line on the bridge. The bridge was built for automobiles and trucks.

It's probably the most common way during the workday.  I lived in Maryland for a few years and made the drive north with some regularity.  You can take the southerly route through the peninsula along route 301, then cross at Annapolis, but the traffic at the Bay Bridge can be a nightmare.  I think I only went that way once or twice.  Or you can take 95 straight through Baltimore, but that can be horrendous too, especially during rush hour.  So 695 and the Key Bridge are sort of the safest route traffic-wise because it bypasses the worst of downtown Baltimore.

Although if you're going by train, I wouldn't recommend it.

The iconic bridge has never had any railway lines, and has been exclusively used as a roadway since it was built in the early 1970s. According to the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA), the Francis Scott Key Bridge opened in March 1977 as the final link to Interstate 695.

Just before 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, the container ship DALI struck the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, Maryland, causing it to collapse. Eight people were reportedly on the bridge at the time it collapsed, and at least six people remain missing as a search is still underway.
 

Joe Biden has spoken about the incident and is already saying he wants the federal government to bear the cost of rebuilding the bridge.

"It’s my intention that federal government will pay for the entire cost of reconstructing that bridge," he said, "and I expect to — the Congress to support my effort."

It seems a bit premature to be talking about rebuilding the bridge and discussing how it will be paid for while people are still missing, but that's Joe Biden for you.

And I know this thread isn’t about the media, but the media has decided that Donald Trump is so much of a threat, they don’t feel any obligation to cover the two candidates equally. I think it was someone from PBS that mentioned this a couple years ago. And the New York Times said this when Donald Trump was running in 2016

For years it has been in terrible shape.
