DeSantis knocks Haley for not endorsing Trump
by Lauren Sforza - 03/07/24 8:17 AM ET

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) criticized former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (R) for not endorsing former President Trump after she bowed out of the Republican primary race earlier this week, referencing the GOP’s loyalty pledge.

“I signed the pledge and you signed the pledge saying that you’re gonna not take your ball and go home,” DeSantis said on Newsmax’s “The Balance” with Eric Bolling when asked about Haley’s decision. “And so I honored the pledge and she’s gonna have to make a decision about whether she wants to or not.”

“But the idea that somehow circumstances have changed — I think we all knew what we were doing when we did that, and you got to make a judgment about whether that’s meaningful to you, he added. “And so for me, I tell people, you know, if I say I’m going to do something, I’m going to do it.”

The Republican National Committee (RNC) required candidates who wanted to qualify for the debate stage to sign a loyalty pledge vowing to support the eventual GOP nominee. Haley, along with the other major candidates in the race, signed the pledge.

She’s got more balls than he does
I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

I don't think so, all Haley has proved is that her words no better than Trumps.

Not like Trump wants Haley supporters to vote for him anyway.

I think they both make a fair point.

Haley is right that Trump isn't worthy of support. But DeSantis is right in that Trump is the same guy he was at the beginning of the race, and both he and Haley gave their word to support the eventual nominee.   I can respect the idea that politicians have to follow through on the promises they make.

It would be nice if DeSantis worked on car insurance reform instead of genuflecting before the orange baboon.  Trump already has plenty of volunteers for that.
