Mitt Romney knocks Biden for ‘enormous error’ in not pardoning Trump

Fierce Trump critic Mitt Romney voiced bewilderment at why President Biden didn’t pardon his predecessor as soon as the federal indictments came down, with the Utah senator saying “he should have fought like crazy” to keep them from moving forward.

“Had I been President Biden, when the Justice Department brought on indictments, I would have immediately pardoned him,” Romney (R-Utah) told MSNBC’s “The 11th Hour with Stephanie Ruhle.”

“Because it makes me, President Biden, the big guy and the person I pardoned a little guy.”

Romney, 77, who is set to retire at the end of his term next January, backed both impeachments against Trump in 2020 and 2021 respectively.

Biden, 81, who has taken a backseat to the Justice Department and rarely discusses his rival’s legal woes in public, laughed off questions about pardoning his predecessor.

Pardoning?  Biden is the one persecuting Trump.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

Translation: "I know the indictments are frivolously bogus, but 'pardoning' Trump would have made Trump look guilty!"

Romney's envy and bitterness over Trump having been elected President while he, Romney, had been rejected by voters is cringey.
If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"? Is reality a Big Pharma Shill?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

Willard (Romney), you are such a tool.  Were you hammered from drinking too much malted milk?

How is pardoning Trump different from the Office of President having absolute immunity from prosecution?

If Biden pardoned Trump, Trump would still run for President in 2024, and, if elected, be "dictator for a day".

I don't like Romney either, but he is 100% correct that this would have been the smarter move for Biden politically.  Although he's wrong in suggesting that Biden should have pressured the NY DA to drop that prosecution.  Pardon him for the two federal offenses would make Biden appear more fair, magnanimous, and "above" Trump.  Then point out that even as President, he has no power over the New York prosecution and civil cases(s).  He gets all the benefit of granting the pardon while Trump still gets prosecuted in a way that has no blowback for Biden.

Would have been a brilliant move politically, but the Dems are too filled with TDS to do it.

Interesting to see if this starts a never ending cycle of trying to imprison ex-POTUS'  Pedo Joe sure has accumulated enough potential crimes to warrant it.   I'd love to see Biden rot in jail.

Sad to say, but I don't think we have had a decent candidate since Reagan, well maybe Dole.

How is pardoning Trump different from the Office of President having absolute immunity from prosecution?

Because the former happens on a case by case basis, and the latter excuses anything regardless of circumstances.  A President could act without fear of any consequences if he has absolute immunity, but could not know on advance if a pardon would be granted by his successor.

I think that's a pretty big difference.
