Former President Donald Trump was barred from operating his business in New York for three years and was found liable for more than $350 million in damages in the civil fraud case brought against him, his family and the Trump Organization by New York Attorney General Letitia James.

New York Judge Arthur Engoron handed down his ruling Friday after a months-long trial beginning in October and stemming from James' lawsuit alleging the former president inflated his assets and committed fraud.

Engoron ruled that Trump and defendants were liable for "persistent and repeated fraud," "falsifying business records," "issuing false financial statements," "conspiracy to falsify false financial statements," "insurance fraud," and "conspiracy to commit insurance fraud...............

So let me get this straight:

- The bank says they would loan to you again!

Former President Trump blasted "clubhouse politician" Judge Arthur Engoron Friday after he barred him from operating his business in New York for three years and fined him more than $350 million, defending the "great company" he built and telling Fox News Digital that the ruling is yet another example of Democrats "trying to stop" him, but that "they will not be successful."

Engoron handed down his ruling Friday after a months-long civil fraud trial beginning in October and stemming from New York Attorney General Letitia James' lawsuit alleging the former president inflated his assets and committed fraud.

Trump spoke exclusively to Fox News Digital shortly after Engoron's ruling was made public Friday afternoon.

"A crooked New York judge working with the very corrupt attorney general of New York State, who ran on the basis of ‘I will get trump’ before knowing me — before even knowing anything about me — just ruled that I have to pay a fine of $355 million based on absolutely nothing," Trump told Fox News Digital. "No victims. No damages. Great financial statements, with full disclaimer clauses, only success."

Trump told Fox News Digital that the "banks and insurance companies were thrilled — they made nothing but money. No defaults, no nothing at a time when many banks are losing money."

"This is a witch hunt where the judge ruled against me before he even saw the case," Trump said, noting that Engoron "strongly stated that said Mar-a-Lago was worth $18 million- when it is worth anywhere from 50 to 100 times more than that."

In September, Engoron ruled that Trump and the Trump Organization had committed fraud while building a real estate empire by deceiving banks, insurers and others by overvaluing his assets and exaggerating his net worth on paperwork used in making deals and securing financing.

Trump also said Engoron has "already been overturned on this case four times — a record." .........

And I as an Oil Company Stockholder, I would highly support an embargo Petroleum products to NY.  Make them pay for electing  this level of political activism.

By "insurance fraud", they mean that Trump paid MORE for insurance at a higher valuation than he would have paid had the insurance companies valued the OUT OF STATE properties at as low a value as NYC deems them worth.

This is what they are calling 'insurance fraud'.

A New York court delivered a crushing blow Friday to Donald Trump’s wallet by ordering the real estate tycoon to pay some $355 million after finding him liable of inflating his net worth by billions a year to get better loan and insurance terms.

But it’s unlikely that Trump’s name will be erased from the Big Apple skyline after Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron rejected the New York Attorney General’s request to permanently bar him from doing business in the state where he shot to fame.

Here’s what the ruling means for Trump’s real estate empire, his family company — and his wallet:

What does the ruling mean for Trump’s NY real estate empire?

Prior to trial, the judge had yanked Trump’s business license for the Trump Organization — issuing what attorneys described as the “corporate death penalty” — after finding him liable for New York Attorney General Letitia James’ main claim of fraud.

But in Friday’s ruling, Engoron reinstated Trump’s “business certificates” — and left it up to a third-party monitor to oversee the former president’s prized assets, such as Midtown’s Trump Tower and other iconic New York properties.

“This is a complete reversal from the last decision, and it is much more palatable for Trump,” said real estate lawyer Adam Leitman Bailey, who has sued Trump in the past.

“He went from ordering Trump to potentially have to sell all of his New York assets within a short amount of time, to just having a monitor oversee things without giving her direction on what she’s supposed to do,” Leitman Bailey added.

The ruling also bars Trump from being the CEO of Trump Org — or holding any top business office in the state — for three years, but the ex-president could appoint someone else to run the company during that time, with the business staying in New York.

At the rate they are fining Trump, his wealth is going to greatly dissipate.  Who knows how much $$ he truly has/had.  He's never revealed his wealth/assets other than what he claims. 

Envious of Trump?  Definitely not.  He's been slapped with 91 felonies.  He just was ordered to pay over $350,000,000.00  Then there's the $447,000,000.00 he's been ordered to Caroll.  I'd say he probably is not doing too well financially these days.

What sucks here is the fallout and the unintended (maybe) consequences.

You do a similar thing with your banks and insurance co. Pay it all back with interest on time like any other loan.

Govt comes in and says you committed fraud and gets a big judgement against you. Except there is no crime and not victim, so who does the $$$ go to?

THE GOVERNMENT.

If it's enough $$$ or you are a political enemy, the govt can now do some RICO like extortion of your company and simply take it in something similar to civil forfeiture. And if you're willing to settle for a lower amount, no trial even.

New York Attorney General Letitia James said Donald Trump and his organization owe $463.9 million, which includes the interest on top of the $355 million. He also owes the “rape” victim with a crazy story and no evidence, E Jean Carroll, $88 million, which he has to pay for defaming her already tarnished reputation.

He has to find the money or part of it, depending on what the court determines, and put it in escrow quickly. Interest accrues daily for this bogus lawsuit. Not only that, the interest accrues while the appeals take place.

Letitia James is the top lawmaker in New York State, and she is a “communist,” partisan hack who brought a sham case against Trump with a judge whom many on the left call a communist.

Many other lawsuits were pending appeal, but Trump opted not to appeal a court’s decision that found he is not immune from civil lawsuits that blame him for the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. He’ll face those also, as the left seeks to bankrupt him as they promised they would when he was president.
