Belgian MP: ‘Hamas operates in our border,’ with nothing done about it

Both MP Michael Freilich and Justice Minister Paul Van Tigchelt state that there “are groups who operate in Belgium on the account of Hamas, lobbying, and fundraising for the terror group designated as such by EU laws.” And although the European Palestinian Council for Political Relations (EUPAC) is named as “a proxy group” that is fundraising and lobbying for Hamas, it certainly isn’t the only group in Belgium (and beyond) that is associated with Hamas.
It is no secret that such groups have long operated within Western countries, not only in the EU, but also in the UK, America and Canada as well. Many such groups were exposed, for example, during the Holy Land Foundation trial, the largest terrorism funding trial in the history of America, where a long list of unindicted co-conspirators was released. This list connected these groups to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood. ...
Freilich also said about Belgian government authorities in reference to the PFLP: “It makes absolutely zero sense. They’re looking for excuses to not do anything.” ...
This really gripes my cookies, as Maj. Frank Burns might say. We have been contemplating a trip to Belgium to see WWI and WWII sites, and to eat waffles, of course. But we're not going to waste all that travel money on a country that has no interest in keeping its citizens and visitors safe.
