A Texas woman who opened fire at Joel Osteen's Lakewood Church was accused of being a schizophrenic with Munchausen-by-proxy - but was still able to legally purchase the AR-15 she used to unleash horror on Sunday.

Gunwoman Genesse Ivonne Moreno, 36, had a lengthy criminal record going back to 2005, including charges of assault, weapons, marijuana possession and forgery charges. She also had a history of mental illness and was held in an emergency detention order in 2016, police said Monday.

They also revealed they found anti-Semitic writings and that Moreno appeared to have issues with Jewish relatives.

'We do believe that there was a familial dispute that has taken place between her ex-husband and her ex-husband's family, some of whom are Jewish,' police said in a press conference.

Moreno used several identities under both genders and it's unclear what gender she identified as. However, police said on Monday she is believed to be the biological mother of the seven-year-old she brought into the church with her. ...

They want you to believe the shooter was not trans, even though she was born Genesse and later identified as “Jeffrey,” and pictures prove she became significantly more masculine looking.

They want you to believe that the shooter was white, even though records show she was from El Salvador.

They want you to believe just the word “Palestine” was written on the gun, and it’s totally unconnected to her antisemitic writings.

And they definitely don’t want you asking questions about what her path to citizenship was that allowed her to vote in the 2020 election, with a rap sheet as long as hers.

Please, don’t use your brains. They’d prefer you blame the gun and call it a day.

Woman Who Opened Fire in Lakewood Church Bought Gun Legally

The woman who opened fire in Lakewood Church Sunday legally purchased the long gun used in the attack in December 2023.

She also had a .22 rifle in the backpack she was carrying. She was shot and killed by off-duty law enforcement officers who were working security at the church as a side job.

Breitbart News reported that the attacker was identified as 36-year-old Genesse Moreno, who KHOU 11 noted “previously identified as Jeffery Escalante.”

KHOU found the previous identity via a search of Texas Department of Public Safety Records.

Breitbart News did a follow-up search of the Texas Department of Public Safety Records and found that in one entry, the name appeared as “Jeffrey” instead of “Jeffery.”

Breaking: former DHS official just contacted me with intel on the Lakewood Church shooter:

"Transgender shooter was an El Salvadoran previously in removal proceedings but had them cancelled in 2010. She was originally a green card holder who committed offenses that put her in removal proceedings. In 2010 while in the proceedings an immigration judge granted her cancelation of removal."

*Side note: This was at the same time Barack Obama was expanding the Office of Refugee Resettlement and inviting hundreds of thousands of unvetted Muslims into our country. ABC13 learned those details on Wednesday upon receiving a 49-page report documenting Genesse Moreno's calls to her home on Gulfstream Road and those by nearby residents.

On Tuesday night, only Eyewitness News brought you a neighbor's camera footage showing Moreno loading up her vehicle hours before allegedly storming into the Houston megachurch on Sunday.

Interesting.... she (had a child, makes her a her) was crazy BUT had the presence of mind to hide what she was loading into her van w/ a tarp before the shooting. All the crazy stuff she did to the neighbors makes me think she was just freaking evil jerk. Doing Hitler salutes at neighbors whom she harassed for years with guns and trying to run over w/impunity. She was able to convince the police she was just acting weird, so I tend to believe more evil than mentally off. 

Also, if that report that she voted while illegal is valid, it needs to be shouted from the rooftops. I am tired of Democrats lying about illegals voting.

IMO, preparations to commit a crime and actions to conceal the preparations or the crime itself and action to escape should be an absolute counter to insanity pleas. Preparation proves capacity to plan, and efforts at concealment and/or escape prove knowledge the crime was wrong.

Texas authorities say they are responding to reports of a shooting at Joel Osteen's Lakewood Church in Houston.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez announced that there were "possible shots fired at/or around Lakewood Church" on Sunday afternoon.

"We have @HCSOTexas deputies that work an extra-job there," Gonzalez said on X. "Info still preliminary. Site falls within @houstonpolice area."

"The active scene is at Lakewood Church on the SW Fwy service road. Traffic is very heavy near and on the service road," Houston Police Department wrote on X.
