Can Texas Constitutionally Engage in War and Protect Itself From Imminent Danger?
by Joe Wolverton, II, J.D. January 24, 2024

“No State shall, without the Consent of Congress … engage in War, unless actually invaded, or in such imminent Danger as will not admit of delay.” — Article I, Section 10, Clause 3 of the U.S. Constitution

“As each state will expect to be attacked and wish to guard against it, each will retain its own militia for it own defense.” — James Madison, speech at the Virginia Ratifying Convention, June 16, 1788

“This is not over. Texas’ razor wire is an effective deterrent to the illegal crossings Biden encourages. I will continue to defend Texas’ constitutional authority to secure the border and prevent the Biden Admin from destroying our property.”

That’s the message sent via X (formerly Twitter) by Texas Governor Greg Abbott on Tuesday.

The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg.

The Constitution, originally written to limit the power of the Federal Government, is now being interpreted so that the power of anything but the Federal Government is to be limited. :im waiting:

Texas doesn't have to go to war in the traditional sense.

They do what they can on non-Federal land.  Texas officials can enforce state public safety laws.  But, the best thing to do, is to bus the migrants to Dem Sanctuary Cities and States.

Texas needs to transform its Border Problem into America's Border problem by exporting that problem to non-Border states.

So far, the Feds haven't been reimbursing state and municipalities for the costs of taking in the illegal migrants.  Biden's policies are draining state and municipal resources away long-time residents to deal with the illegal migrants.  Voters in Dem jurisdictions see their needs being ignored to take care of the illegal migrants.  More voters in Dem strongholds are willing to consider voting for non-Dem alternatives or not showing up at the polls for Dems.

If the Feds won't keep illegal migrants from entering Texas, there's no law against Texas sending them elsewhere voluntarily.  Busing illegal migrants up North is working.  It is eroding local and state support for the Biden Administration.

If the GOP had better quality candidates, it could better capitalize to strengthen majority in House, gain majority in Senate, and possibly defeat Biden.

Keep sending those migrant buses, planes, trains, boats, and zeppelins up North.
