Offering someone a juicy position is NOT a bribe. Let's get clear on that. A bribe is illegal. This was simply STUPID. He could have just explained the deal and why and she could have said no. She said she "can't be bought". He told her this was a strategic move only he did it a very inexperienced and foolish way.
I could easily see someone saying.....get Lake to hold off until Kelly comes up again. We can keep her going until then.....and maybe she can even gain some much needed experience in government, party operations, and how to run a campaign.

Brian Lamb is a good man. I've heard him speak on several occasions and I like him (not saying I don't like Lake).
So.....no bribe, just some strategy.
NO fall to take. She just pushed him out of office with the threat of "additional recordings". So, my guess is....someone is going to want to hear those recordings to ensure there is nothing actually illegal going on. And if they get them, they might just go after any other recordings she might have (wonder if others are not a little concerned about conversations they had with her).
