Even Gavin Newsom's wife saw Ron DeSantis was winning the debate

Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) faced a tall order when he debated Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) on the only cable network that refuses to rig its coverage against Republicans. The California governor not only had to defend his state's objective decline against the Florida governor's exceptional record, but Newsom, a party princeling in waiting, also had to prove his deference to President Joe Biden and defend the president's abysmal performance.
Who won in the Generation X showdown for the future of the country? The betting markets indicate Newsom lost, with his presidential primary odds against Biden down nearly 2.5% over the last day, and the relative silence from the corporate press indicates the Republican presidential hopeful bested the Democrat. But the real sign that red beat blue: Newsom's own wife demanded the debate end.
"[T]he grievances from Newsom’s team inside the venue were just the start of the mass finger-pointing that followed the 95-minute melee late Thursday in the suburbs of Atlanta," Politico reports of Newsom's complaints that the debate was unfair. "Other alleged violations — of rules both written and understood — involve Ron DeSantis, the Republican Florida governor. A DeSantis aide said California first partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom was the one who stepped in and ended the debate on her husband’s behalf after Hannity invited the two governors to go deeper into overtime. A second person on the ground confirmed that."
