How Trump put the final nail in McCarthy's speakership coffin

Former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) reportedly told former President Donald Trump, "F*** you" in a phone call following his historic ouster from the position, which Trump opted not to help the lawmaker avoid.

According to the Washington Post, which cited several sources familiar with the phone call, Trump listed his reasons for not assisting McCarthy in avoiding such a fate weeks after the motion to vacate was passed. The former president allegedly chastised McCarthy for not being more forceful in moving to expunge his two impeachments, as well as the speaker's hesitance to endorse him in the 2024 presidential race.

After Trump's reprimand, McCarthy reportedly said the expletive. However, McCarthy's team denies the curse was said.

McCarthy and Trump speak frequently, and their conversations are understood to span a wide range of topics. Further, the men are comfortable being incredibly candid with one another, a source familiar with their dynamic described.

The former speaker was removed early last month when eight Republicans voted with Democratic lawmakers to vacate McCarthy from the role. Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), a close ally and endorser of Trump, led the charge. Reps. Tim Burchett (R-TN), Ken Buck (R-CO), Eli Crane (R-AZ), Bob Good (R-VA), Matt Rosendale (R-MT), Andy Biggs (R-AZ), and Nancy Mace (R-SC) also voted in favor of the motion.

Several of the Republicans who moved to rid McCarthy of the speakership are endorsers of the former president, including Crane, Rosendale, and Biggs — in addition to Gaetz. Further, Burchett and Mace haven't issued endorsements in the race, but the two could potentially be supporters of Trump in 2024.

Proving once again, in my mind, that is all about Trump and how he benefits.  Trump and his acolytes were willing to saddle us with McCarthy despite his track record, because he had promised Trump that he would expunge his 2 impeachments.  When that didn't happen fast enough, Trump turned on him.
No government in the 12,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.

What a load of crap.  Trump didn't turn on McCarthy until after he was already ousted.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-

I read elsewhere today that McCarthy may not run again, and may even resign from Congress early.

We can only hope.

Trump is only (1) person out of billions.  He only has as much power as people believe he has.

McCarthy was undone by GOP House Chaos Caucus, not Trump.  All Trump could do was make GOP House eunichs cower before their false Cheet-O messiah's mean tweets.
