Army apologizes for sending soldiers ‘last-minute’ recruiting orders
Those who attend can receive accelerated promotions and cash bonuses.

Throughout the week, noncommissioned officers across the Army have received notices through their branch managers and other officials that the service needs more recruiting NCOs — and it needs them fast.

According to requisition emails posted to social media channels like Army Reddit, the Army is seeking volunteers to attend recruiting school as soon as Nov. 6, and has waived a host of standing qualifications in order to boost attendance. But other users reported receiving notifications for involuntary orders directing them to attend the course at Fort Knox, Kentucky.

After public outcry about the move and instruction from Gen. Randy George, the service’s chief of staff, the Army’s top personnel officer, Lt. Gen. Doug Stitt, spoke with reporters Wednesday and apologized “to the soldiers and the families that received this last-minute notification” and told reporters “that mistake is mine.”

This kind of f*ckup might make some people think the military is screwed up, but not me. :bs:

Soooooo,new  recruiting NCO/Officers is the solution to the manpower shortage in the army?

What are these new recruiters going to do,kidnap new recruits in their sleep and force them to enlist at gunpoint?

What am I missing here?

Flashback to May:

Army starts no-penalty purge of ‘ineffective’ recruiters

Quote
As the military struggles to meet its recruiting targets, which the Army will miss again this year, the service’s recruiting chief issued a directive Friday standardizing recent changes to how it removes underperformers.

The memo from Army Recruiting Command’s Maj. Gen. Johnny Davis implemented recent changes to the Army regulation governing how recruiters are assigned to — and, if necessary, removed from — recruiting duty. Command officials did not immediately respond to emailed questions from Army Times about the memo, which has circulated on social media in recent days.

One of the biggest changes: the command will remove “ineffective” recruiters without giving them a negative evaluation, including both permanent 79R recruiters and those involuntarily selected by the Army for temporary tours. Under the previous regulation, recruiting commanders had the discretion to slap failed Army-selected recruiters with “relief for cause” evaluations that could torpedo the recipient’s career, regardless of their competence in their primary specialty.

@Timber Rattler

How is that?

I have known some VERY  fine Special Operations operators who were assigned to recruiting duty against their will,and were VERY unhappy with the assignment,even though they did the best they could do.

They became career soldiers so they could be high-speed special operators,not salesmen/recruiters.

Granted,some people are flexible enough they can fit into any job you assign them,but the "high speed" guys I knew were only happy living "out there on the edge". When you consider how rare these people are and how hard it is to find them,it seems like a terrible waste of time for everybody to assign them to a recruiting position.

Unless,of course,they are on temporary physical profiles from wounds or other injuries and unfit/unable to be deployed. In that case they might be happy to take any job they can find that keeps them busy until they heal up and can go back to  one of the teams.

I think a good comparison of today's recruiters would be with Ford salesmen tasked with selling Edsels, it doesn't matter how good a salesman you are if the product you have is crap. Blaming recruiters for the stinking mess liberals and socialists have turned our military into and justifiable lack of interest in joining up is as asinine as the current leadership.

@GtHawk

True.

It also needs to be said that it SEEMS like a lot of the new soldiers being recruited should have been left standing on the street corners,where they could do less harm.

A slacker isn't someone we want in uniform and made responsible for insuring the security of our country.

After all,we already have more slackers than we need in the WH.

Has there EVER been a more corrupt  administration than the  Biden Administration?
