Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., informed the House of Representatives on Wednesday that she was served a subpoena "to produce documents in a criminal case" in California.

Pelosi's statement related to the subpoena was read by the House Clerk, which standard when a member is issued a subpoena related to a civil or criminal matter.

"This is to notify you formally pursuant to Rule Eight of the rules of the House of Representatives, that I, the Honorable Nancy Pelosi, Speaker Emerita, and U.S. Representative for the 11th Congressional District of California, have been served with third party subpoenas from the prosecution and the defendant to produce documents in a criminal case and United States District Court for the Northern District of California," Pelosi's statement read.  ...

The man who allegedly attacked him, David DePape, is set to go on trial this month.

Key word in the statement, "Documents". What or why would there be documents involved in what was supposedly a random attack on a random night? Why would she need to be subpoenaed for "documents"?

Opening arguments are set to begin Thursday in the federal trial of David DePape, a California man caught on camera last year attacking Paul Pelosi, the husband of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), with a hammer, fracturing his skull and causing other bodily damage.

The 43-year-old faces charges of attempted kidnapping of a federal official and assault on the immediate family of a federal official. If convicted, he could be sentenced to prison for the rest of his life.

Prosecutors allege DePape entered the Pelosis' home in the tony Pacific Heights neighborhood on Oct. 28, 2022, after smashing a rear glass door with a hammer and then headed up to the second floor of the house, where he found Paul Pelosi asleep. DePape allegedly screamed "Where's Nancy?" repeatedly at her husband, who managed to make a 911 telephone call in which he spoke to the dispatcher and left the line open for authorities. The dispatcher, realizing something was wrong, sent the police to the address.

When officers arrived around 2:30 a.m., Paul Pelosi opened the door. The officers saw Paul Pelosi and DePape with their hands on a 5-pound steel hammer. They told both men to drop the hammer, but DePape wrestled it away, swung it, and hit Paul Pelosi in the head, according to authorities. Paul Pelosi fell to the ground, unconscious, and the officers restrained DePape.  ...

In December, DePape pleaded not guilty to six charges, including attempted murder and first-degree residential burglary, brought by the San Francisco District Attorney's Office in the state's concurrent case against him.

In an unexpected move Tuesday, the defendant in the Paul Pelosi assault trial in San Francisco was called to the stand by his defense team.

David DePape, accused of assaulting Nancy Pelosi's husband with a hammer in the couple's San Francisco home last year, was called to the stand early in Tuesday's federal proceedings.

DePape spoke for more than an hour, recounting how his political leanings went from leftist to right-wing after reading a comment on a YouTube video about former President Donald Trump. He did not deny bludgeoning Paul Pelosi, saying he reacted after realizing his larger plan might be unraveling. ...

"I (expletive) love Hunter Biden. There's so much corruption. The FBI was covering up corruption," DePape said.

DePape testified that his plan was to get Nancy Pelosi and other targets to admit to their corruption and eventually get President Joe Biden to pardon them all. ...

The logic here is that feminist/queer theorist Gayle Rubin, a professor at the University of Michigan, is a key player in this QAnon-world conspiracy in which schools become "pedophile molestation factories" and all the "maladjusted" children that come out of them automatically become "communist activists." Because that makes sense!  ...

IMHO, this is the meat of the matter.
With renewed pushes for monitoring online conversations by official agencies, (and the State of New York) this is setting up the official censorship/reprisal machine for the coming elections on social media.
Rights are lost by popular demand more often than top-down action, so this has to be made to appear to have that demand (dissenters can be wiped from the media with an algorithm or a few censor bots).

That is the real objective, here, the Pelosis are only incidental to this in that this incident (now that the narrative has been crafted) will be used to help make this a matter of 'public' safety.
