President Biden would veto a package put forward by House Republicans to provide aid to Israel while cutting funding for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and leaving out funding for other national security priorities, the White House said Tuesday.

The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) picked apart the House GOP proposal in a lengthy statement of administration policy, arguing it “inserts partisanship into support for Israel” and fails to meet the moment by leaving out humanitarian assistance for the people of Gaza and aid for Ukraine and allies in the Indo-Pacific.

“This bill is bad for Israel, for the Middle East region, and for our own national security,” the OMB said.

The White House further asserted that the GOP proposal marks a break from bipartisan precedent by seeking funding cuts as part of an emergency national security package.

“Congress has consistently worked in a bipartisan manner to provide security assistance to Israel, and this bill threatens to unnecessarily undermine that longstanding approach,” the OMB said. “Bifurcating Israel security assistance from the other priorities in the national security supplemental will have global consequences.”

President Joe Biden would veto House Republicans’ aid proposal for Israel that would be paid for with IRS cuts, his administration announced Tuesday, while the Congressional Budget Office says the IRS offsets would add to the national debt.

The White House Office of Management and Budget released a statement Monday saying the administration “strongly opposes House passage of the Israel Security Supplemental Appropriation Act (ISSA)” — a $14 billion aid package for Israel without funds for Ukraine or Taiwan attached. Biden seeks a bill that bundles aid for all three countries, with $61.4 billion going to Ukraine.

“[R]ather than putting forward a package that strengthens American national security in a bipartisan way, the bill fails to meet the urgency of the moment by deepening our divides and severely eroding historic bipartisan support for Israel’s security,” the statement reads in part.

“If the President were presented with this bill, he would veto it,” the White House Office of Management and Budget added.

Another blow came for Republicans Wednesday morning when the Congressional Budget Office released its analysis of the bill, finding it would add $12.5 billion to the debt by 2033 by decreasing IRS revenue by a projected $27 billion, as Punchbowl News reported.

No, no you see in Brandon's brain three separate bills would equal 3X the amount of one ginormous bill, but the really really important thing is that his kickbacks from Ukraine would be delayed if Congress dealt with Israel and Taiwan first or worse reduced what Brandon wanted to send to Ukraine.
