Just off the top of my head @mountaineer here are a few of the promises kept.  I guess they must have happened so fast they just whizzed past you    happy77

Conservative judges, rebuilt military

I'm going to stop you right there.  Trump was a terrible President for the military.

Just right off the top, he caved on the issue of women in combat units even though there was still resistance from the Marine Corps.  He did nothing about the lowering of standards in things like the Ranger School so that women could make it.  He then overruled his own Secretary of Defense and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs to appoint the catastrophic General Milley to Chairman of  Joint Chiefs.

Here's an article that was posted in the military thread, about the left-wing cultural changes at the U.S. Air Force Academy that led a bunch of full professors to resign in protest, from the fall of 2017 through 2018.

https://www.realcleardefense.com/articles/2023/11/04/culture_change_at_the_united_states_air_force_academy_990551.html

And we all know who was President then, right?

Trump has zero intellectual curiosity, and zero interest in learning about things that don't interest him, no matter how important they are.  He doesn't read. Had he been following any of this kind of stuff -- as many of us here did -- he could have sat down in his first week and sent a clear message that he wanted that crap to stop.  But he didn't, because he didn't care, or it wasn't important to him, or (worst of all) he was unaware of it at all because he never paid attention to it.

The same can be said regarding his most ardent fans, unfortunately
I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

At least his supporters on here read something beyond their own tweets.  Anyone who would rather be briefed verbally on everything rather than read source material shouldn't be making Presidential-level decisions.

lol...  My net worth might not be at his level, but beleive me I have taken great pride in what I have been able to do.  And it was done honestly, by saving, research, and  with hard work.

We soon forget that real estate developers are among the most sleazy and predatory POS in this country.  And uhhhh.... just how did Tumpy accumulate his ill gotten gain?. Saying I am jealous of this example of human excrement, is about the funniest thing you have ever posted.

The truth often hurts.

In all seriousness, Trump is a grossly fat, pasty guy who by his own admission doesn't have a lot of friends.  Why would anyone with a somewhat normal life want to trade places with that?  And the idea of having a much younger and more beautiful wife who tolerates me only because of my money...just yuck.

I'd never want to be that guy in a million years.

DeSantis Held His ‘Major’ Endorsement Event with Kim
Reynolds In Iowa Last Night. Only 150 People Showed Up.

Jack Montgomery 11/7

The allegedly “historic” endorsement of Ron DeSantis by Governor Kim Reynolds in Iowa, where the Floridian has less than half the support of Donald Trump, appears to have been attended by only around 150 people.

A simple headcount of the crowd present for the much-hyped endorsement shows around 150 people, give or take a handful of photographers, journalists, and campaign and venue staff.

The modest turnout suggests Reynolds, trailed as a possible running mate for DeSantis, will be unlikely to galvanize a significant increase in support for the Floridian, who is currently on 18 percent in the Hawkeye State.

Trump, meanwhile, is on 44 percent – a much greater gap than the one between DeSantis and Nikki Haley, who is just a few points away from overtaking him at 15 percent.

The Florida Governor’s situation is even more dire in New Hampshire, the other early battleground state in the GOP race, where he is in third place behind Haley, and has at time polled as low as fifth place.

Maybe I've not paid too much attention and I missed it, but have all you former Ted Cruz Groupies...now 'baptized' Anti-Trump zealots

...have you discussed why Ted Cruz isn't being pushed forward as a viable candidate in 2024?

Many of us who supported Ted Cruz, and now Ron DeSantis just don’t believe that more centralized government, more deficits, more inflation, and more debt are the way out of our current situation

You don’t agree and that’s your right. Should Trump win, I would love to be proven wrong. But I know I won’t be.

I have nothing personal against Donald Trump. It’s just political.

Trump supporters are similar to the socialists . They believe a larger federal government and devaluing currency will work without any negative consequences when they do it.

Whether  his supporters want to admit it or not, Trump did not inherit an economy in freefall. He inherited an economy that was growing, although sluggishly.

He’s out blasting Biden for the inflation, but ignoring his contribution to it

Given the political AND societal landscape in which we currently exist,
the very last thing you need to worry about is deficit spending.

To even dwell on it suggests a complete lack of situational awareness.

Damn silliest question you've asked in years.  Thanks to the Stone-Pecker-Trump slime machine in '16,  the "Lyin' Ted" meme lives to this day.  Hell, he almost lost his last senatorial bid thanks to the lies, innuendo, and bullshit.

Situational awareness?   :silly:

I hope that comment was in jest.....  You really think this accelerated deficit spending into oblivion can go on forever?  What do we do when the payment on interest on bond debt starts exceeded needed expenditures?  That is unless you are a Bernie Sanders disicple of the concept that we can live in a world of hyperinflation.

The deficit spending that you so  eagerly dismiss, is used to fund a larger and more intrusive government. It’s also the main reason why we have high inflation

To dismiss it suggest a complete lack of situational awareness

Trump supporters seem to believe that your vote should be used to bail Trump out of his legal problems, some of those self-inflicted

After the '20 election I had a level of sympathy for DJT, as there was no doubt there was some foolishness in the vote counting.

But now, with his extreme left turn this election cycle, and the repeat of his electoral sleaze tactics?  Tump can go F himself.

I’d be real interested to see how his supporters explain where Trump is going to get a lot of the money for his big plans and why they don’t believe that deficit spending and currency devaluation will work better under Donald Trump then it would under Joe Biden

Then I would like to see them explain that, considering that high inflation under Biden is unpopular with voters, why don’t they think that Donald Trump would suffer political consequences along with the Republican Party as a whole if Donald Trump continues the inflationary spending

This should be good

???

Of course not...at some point you have to cut government spending.  BUT...

NOT when the opposition party and media are blatant Commies.
NOT while our military has been LGTBQ'd...leadership since 2009 has been purposefully sabotaged with and by them.
NOT while our oil reserve is depleted and not being addressed

That time came and went twenty years ago or more.
The government full of commies is precisely due to that spending. Communism cannot survive small government.

I am not and never have been a Ted Cruz groupie, even though  I think he is one of the smartest men in government service.

Having said that,I have seen and heard no  evidence he even  wants to be a candidate for the Presidency.

Trump is the only  one that can't be bribed or influenced in any other way because the only thing he is concerned about is how he is written up in the history books.

Plus,he can only serve one term,so he won't waste 4 years sucking up to other pols in order to get re-elected. With him,and ONLY with him,it's "in for 4 and then out forever".

Oh, I can think of a whole lot of things that are further down my list of things I don't worry about.

But anyway, why can't you do those other things and still work on controlling the deficit?  Why can't we care about both?
